The main problem is we employ the wrong people, take those managers away that have left off their own back
Ah right, another thread and all the fault of the club again ... ... change the record Bob man. We're a club on the far NE coast where players and managers are reluctant to relocate to. Few of the managers we're able to attract are big enough for the club and the supporters. Did Donald appoint the right manager?
I expect Allardyce leaving to take the England job was the club's fault ... ... perhaps we should've given him a million, in a brown envelope, to stay
Harry Kane could have 200 managers and only Hodgson would think it would be good idea to have him on corners
Nothing is wrong Bob. It's fairly standard. Newcastle and Palace have had 24 in approximately the same period. Leeds have had 23. Chelsea have also had 20. West Ham who rarely change manager have had 10 and Liverpool and Man Utd, who each have had a manager who was there long term in that period, have had 7. Long gone are the days when when people like Bob Kyle would stay as manager for 23 years. It's the way football is now. And you know why? Because people are constantly criticising clubs and making out things aren't good enough (when all that's probably really required is time and stability) so the clubs feel under pressure to make a statement of change, which is almost always sacking the manager.
I just tried watching 'Sunderland til I die' and couldn't manage more than a few minutes tbh. Donald and Methven were absolutely sickening to me and I switched off. Perhaps Bob and Prehab feel the same way about KLD/KS which is fair enough. Personally I feel a hundred times better now but they're entitled to their opinion. Can't wait to get on the train on Saturday ... Ha'way the Lads!!!
Wonder where we’d be if England didn’t come calling for Big Sam. Reckon we’d never have dropped from the PL, and Short would still be in charge, possibly with Big Sam still the boss. Bart
NOT a fan criticism, Nowt to do with S Donald, do you mean like Keane, Moyes, O'Neil, record changed, now change yours, its rather boring.
I think a lot of it is to have a plan or a philosophy and stick to it. The best clubs tend to stick to a way of working a find coaches to fit that when they have to replace. Then there’s others who are scatter gun with no real plan, sacking managers then having to sell their players cos the new manager wants his own brought in and so on, hence no stability, which has typically been us. Ha.
How many have managed a full season from August to May? I can only think of McCarthy, Poyet and Ross. Edit - Bruce and Keane. Christ, what's the ratio when you take those five out?
To be fair with Big Sam I think there was quite a few rumours at the time that he was going to leave anyway, something about not being back in the transfer market.
