Jasmin De Vaux won. And Giovinco (3rd) has saved the day... and how!, after more than seven months of betting on him.

Hello gents- been a long time! Hope you’re all keeping well and enjoying the festival?

Need a bit of your knowledge if you don’t mind! a simple enough query I think but I can’t seem to help the fella with a definitive answer!

One of the chaps at work has popped a couple of ew multiples on at lunchtime at WillHill shop and I think he’s done pretty well from what I can see.

He had the 2nd in the 1.30 and 5th in both the 2.50 and 4.50 at pretty handsome odds to be fair. He wasn’t sure what the places being paid were but as far as I can see I think he’s landed the ew in those races, having looked at the willhill prices on the RP race card.

Also, anyone know if WillHills shops still do Best Odds Guaranteed? On the betting terminal he used the price was 33/1 for the opener but it looks like it finished second at a 66/1 SP.

We want to check so he gets the right pay out at the shop tomorrow lunchtime (and not embarrass himself if they say the e/w wasn’t landed <laugh>)

Im well out the loop and there seem to be mixed views about some customers no longer getting best odds but possibly some still do?

Thought you guys would be a good group to ask!

Cheers chaps and apologies to be a numpty with these amateur questions!

    That’s a winning bet.

I don’t think they do best odds in the shop unless your friend has a William Hill customer card, whatever that is now. If he’s taken 33/1 on the betting slip then that’s what he will be paid out on.

Yeah, I think the same, once the price Is taken as part of a multiple, you won't get paid the larger price. Only on single win bets. Got stung on it before once or twice, fair difference between 33/1 and 66's but hopefully he enjoys a nice payday either way:emoticon-0148-yes:

I’ve just checked and his other horses are 40/1 and 50/1. Not a bad day for the guy.

All WH shops are different, I remember being in Scotland and they had shops 500 yards apart. One offered treble the odds on one winner (L15) and the other was double the odds. They have promotions that you can have but in only in certain shops. So hopefully the shop the guy went in is offering BOG for the Cheltenham festival. Hope this poster comes back and lets us know how they got on tomorrow.

They do BOG on multiples aswell but in shop betting terms and conditions vary region to region.

Before I head out again, my quick review of yesterday.

Another mediocre day, with the timings all out because of the Cross Country being off. It was great to see two potential superstars of the sport in the first two races, and then it fell to pieces a little bit. The fiddling of Skelton with Langer Dan is shocking, and comes in the week where he got a 6k fine for talking bullshit to the BHA. It really shows that only the little yards get stung when it comes to the BHA. He then repeated the trick with the lovely grey.

El Fab was a disaster, but at least the horse is ok, then the 100 came up in the bumper. Funny old game.

Today looks competitive and similar tomorrow. Hopefully I feel more invigorated by NH racing these two days.

Either that or I need plenty of Guinness tomorrow!
