Yeah but he did gallop away to shoot at the Blunts keeper who couldn’t hold it , for Bullard to score the winner so he is appreciated
Paddy Greenwood... I worked with a former City apprentice (no names) who later turned out for Scarborough under Colin Appleton. Therefore not a bad standard. He told me Appleton once dropped him for nutmegging an opponent. Anyway, I asked my work colleague who was the most skilful player he'd played against and after considering the question for a couple of minutes said 'Paddy Greenwood'.
And head butting opposite player in a reserve game. Maybe Rotherham. I think Peter Taylor fell out with after that.
I used to think Neil Buckley was a bit slow and clumsy, and then I played against him. Took me to the fookin' cleaners. Lovely bloke, too.
Not sure about Keane but Michael Bridges did that. I remember he'd been out of the team, all the talk was that he was going to play because we were short of strikers, but then he got sent off in the reserves and somehow got himself suspended from first team games.
Did you play with them? I'm guessing you played with Philpott too then? Lee is a good friend of mine, we're in the process of launching a business together.
he'd had a cracking game against us for chesterfield but never repeated that form for us. having to include him kind of screwed up our attack that season and alexander and dudfield's goals dried up.
slightly bending the topic, how many bloody managers came in and tried to stop justin whittle being in the team before realising they were wrong? all the ones that followed warren joyce, that's who. one of my favourites, was justin "does what it says on the tin" whittle.
Remember when the ****ing dwarf was on loan at Brizzie and celebrated their goal in front of us visiting fans, ****!!
He didnt get injured in the play off game at orient he got nobbled. Andy Holt was in the form of his life for us at the time, he did everything, defended, attacked, took thrown ins, free kicks and corners. In the first half deep in the Orient half near the corner flag Holt got crocked, a vicious tackle that left him in a pile on the floor as play carried on. He was carried off and subbed by ( cannot remember his name) big coloured lad up front who's first touch of the ball was to play it to a Orient player who ran through and scored. City were cheated that night and Holts injury turned the game.
Mike Price? I was sat in the Best Stand at Boothferry Park when he made his debut in a pre season friendly. Alongside me was a beautiful young thing, short mini skirt and low top, she was gorgeous, and those seats were very close together. Turned out it was Price's mother, just show's how old I am!
Whilst I agree that his time here was very disappointing, especially after seeing him play superbly against us, I got to know Ryan well when I worked with him a few years back. Lovely man, absolute gentleman, still lives locally.
