Must be time for a bit of formation porn for Man U game.

seen the odd bit dotted around in a couple of threads but thats it

(suprising really so am sure someone will point out a whole vein of it somewhere)!

Looks like obertan is back so i would probably have him in there to add another dimension with his pace

Tiote is god so he'll be back

Not sure what to do with the full backs, raylor made mistakes against city but has been good generally, although with santon there would give us an extra attacking element (with jonas being able to cover for him when he go's forward)

------------------------Krul-----------------------------
Simpson------Saylor------Colo------Santon
Obertan--Tiote/(Guthrie)---Cabaye------Jonas
--------------------------HBA---------------------------
--------------------------Ba-----------------------------

hard to work out the strike pairing but as not sure if best is fit would go with the aboven as Hatem looked good against city and he's the kind of player that can get you a goal out of nothing

thoughts?

Tiote's a doubt, which makes things easier:

Krul
Simpson Taylor Colo Santon*
Obertan Guthrie Cabaye Jonas
Benny----
----
Ba

*Personally I'd give Santon a game, wouldnt be upset if Raylor starts though.

think Pardew is a good enough man manager to keep raylors spirit up if dropped and explain situation. Just think it would be better to put santon on left whilst jonas covering. A few starts there and we will see how Santon/Raylor/Simpson compare

Santon certainly will not start instead of Raylor for the Man U match. I do think though if Simpson does not sign the new contract by either the Chelsea or Norwich game then he will be dropped for Santon.

Also according to the Journal both Tiote and Best are out of the match.

Best's fit, NUFCfans just rehash what's in the papers. At the press conference Pards said Ober and Best are back and Tiote's 50/50.

Oh, I hadn't seen the press conference. That's good!

I'd play Smudger's formation above, but with Tiote if fit.

would be happy with this. Dont mind the raylor/santon issue, would prefer to leave simpson there as we dont want any experiments yet on that side without the cover

It seems we have alot less issues with the team this week. Obvious replacements for the players that are / might be injured

This for me <ok>

Edit: Actually, if Tiote's fit then I'd rather have him start in place of Guthrie.

Agree with this unless Tiote is back. Perhaps put Best on later for Ben Arfa depending on scoreline, give him a run about.

Tiote is out and now Guthrie is not 100% fit either according to Pardew.

Same as Man City, Guthrie and Ben Arfa have done enough to keep there place even if Tiote and Best are fit. Bring Obertan in for Sammy if Oba is fit. Keep Raylor in the team, he just had an off day last week.

one site saying guthrie is doubtful

Alan Pardew had this to say today:

“I think it’s been the toughest selections I’ve had to make,” “There’ll be no Cheick, and that gives us a problem.”

“As good as Danny Guthrie’s been, he’s a different type of player. I have to make sure we have a fighting chance of winning this game.”

“Danny has not been 100 per cent.” “He went into the Man City game with a slight injury, and he’ll have to take that into the Man United game.”

“Whether he can last the game or not, we’ll have to wait and see.”

santon in CM for the last 20 mins anyone ..........................<run>
