I like Viz and stand by it <laugh><laugh>
The abbreviation viz. (or viz without a full stop) is short for the Latin videlicet, which itself is a contraction of the Latin phrase videre licet, meaning "it is permitted to see". It is used as a synonym for "namely", "that is to say", "to wit", "which is", or "as follows".

an impressive list! I am afraid I dont read any of them [ except the post when Wiz HIGHLIGHTS articles pertaining to football ] my streams are basically sky news for war in UKR and BEEB news as you can pick what you want from its listings .. once a day from 6pm to 7pm watch the ITV local and general news....

    I love Viz.
8 Ace is one of my favourite characters - the Christmas edition was hilarious, but I like Roger Mellie, Aid the Sexist and a number of others.
The Top Tips are really good too.

I bought it from the 2nd issue onwards for years but stopped ages ago. I used to love the Fat Slags, Rude Kid, Biffa Bacon etc Top Tips were hilarious.

    Just brilliant

Those early editions are worth very good money nowadays. I wish I'd kept them !

I saw something yesterday about the potential new first minister for Wales who sounds about as close to an import as it gets and that means that England, Scotland and Wales will have political leaders that are not of the Christian faith. Just saying!

Christianity is now almost frowned upon here now. Not helped by the woke and leftie Archbishop of Canterbury who says what an awful country we are for trying to deport people who have no right to be here, but offers up no alternatives and doesn't offer to put up a few chancers in Lambeth Palace either.
Its been proved that the church of England has been enabling Muslims to convert to Christianity so they they can say they'll be persecuted if they go home (ha!)
which is against the Muslim faith.
More and more British people here, especially in the north, are converting to Islam
It will end in a political war as they try and bring in blasphemy laws and enforce Sharia law on the UK

It's a sad old world angelic because the green grass that I left in 1975 is now a desert of discontent and claims of injustice from the unworthy. :headbang:

I’m trying to leave Mike - if only I could persuade my company to make me redundant!
I have the ‘golden handcuffs’ :(

Off to Spain as soon as I can - of course Fucxit has made things a bit more complicated than before…..

I can’t retire until I’m 60 at the earliest because my pension won’t be enough money to live on. However, with my length of service I would receive more or less 2 years wages if I was binned off. That would see me through to retirement (I would put as much as possible into my pension scheme to minimise tax - (yes, unbelievably the government tax people for losing their jobs..)
If I walk away then I’d get nothing. That’s what I meant by the ‘golden handcuffs’.

Have you a pension advisor? It was my way forward when I was a licenced insurance agent to not pay extra into an a pension scheme during the last 5 years as the monies was limited to its growth period. instead take out a number of the 10 year tax exempt funds each year! these would start paying out a lump sum of tax free money every [5 year ] after 5th year of retirement [ age 70 ] and provide a lump sum for 5 [ 10 ] years ...
so retire at 65 start first one at 60 then at 61 then at 62 etc etc. [so year 6 would be in first year of retirement, and if allowable and you wished to you could continue. Of note each year you would of course increase your monthly outgoing because it is a new 10 year term.
When I was selling them they were £9 pm [ fixed by .gov ] so after 3 years my clients who had done 3 years of them were paying £27 pm .....
I took out 3 and from memory paid out £2,350 £2,650, £2,450.... ish [ was over £8000 ] cant remember exact amounts but was lowest highest and one in the middle that order......... bearing in mind weekly wages then was about £200 ! and you can of course have one each!
