Your right nobody wanted Nige gone-even Supercon said he should have had to the seasons end.

Junior Lansdown did not like the home truths-Nige was well pissed off when the crown jewels went and had to keep going without being able replace or even having some of the funds.

You agreeing with Cliftonville but Pearson was binning players and cutting the squad size down while LJ was swerving all that small size squad gig and he had big squads and kids from france on big money with big fees and big hair!!

I believe LM does coach them better and set them up better. When ever we’ve lost they are very small margins, most of the time it’s by one goal. We don’t sit on leads.. what we need to improve on is coming from behind..
I’m sure he will rectify our frailties with a few signings come the summer

Both LJ & Pearson had similar players playing as a team, you can only play 11 players at a time. LJ managed higher in the championship without any relegation concerns in 4 seasons. It is what it is..
I believe next season if LM is allowed the time will end the season higher again! Just my opinion

Fans are fickle.. win we are the best thing since sliced bread or in your case it must have something to do with your mate Nige. Lose a Few and the fans aren’t happy, in your case it’s all down to LM’s bad coaching..
Come on RR. I think your worried that LM just might be more successful if allowed a bit more time and a chance to bring players of his choice.

I wish I had your optimism, I’ve seen nothing to suggest you are right, either from his time here, or from his history, I see him as lacking motivation skills, and unable to react quick enough in games to adjust our game plan to counter the opposition. I personally wouldn’t trust him with our transfer money as he’s not shown he’s up to it, and to do so imo would be a huge risk .

I must say I’m enjoying the football more now under LM - of course there have been some shockers, but I do like the way he tries to play.
Nige seemed a bit ‘negative’ - a bit like the tail end of LJs tenure - setting us out not to lose, rather than going for it - and sitting back on a 1-0 lead really p1553d me off!!

I completely disagree with you.. imo a much better modern day coach and as B&W points out he plays to go out and win games, doesn’t like sitting..
At the end of the day, he’s come in and not done any worse, had a good run against Premiership clubs and against the better top championship teams with the exception of Leeds imo..
Nothing is instant, must be allowed time..
He will learn, when required win ugly

You could be right, time will tell. I felt the same about Nige tbh, and so think the board did as well, hence they got rid of him. His tactics and team selections were confusing and the team had zero identity for me. At least LM has a clear way he wants to play, that is a start, he should be given time to prove it, or not.
One thing about Sir Steve, he does generally give his managers a lot of rope, both LJ and NP could, and would under most other chairmen, have been sacked long before they were, so I think Liam will be given until the end of 2024.

you cannot be serious the football is dire apart from Southampton home Watford away and the cup games.
It really is mind numbing **** we are watching.
Sideways-backwards-sideways-backwards it is boring guys I really don’t get how you can be excited by it.

Better than sitting back allowing opposition to pound the defence for the majority of the game..

It seems most on OTIB agree with you RR.
I never went to the Gate under Pearson - not a protest - I just never got around to it, but I watched quite a few games from my ‘bedroom’ and I thought they were boring.
The games I’ve seen under Manning have been refreshingly good attacking style - with obvious exceptions of SW, QPR and Cardiff.

Who do you trust Jon L and Brian T to choose next then?

12 months ago, players, manager and fans were all unified and singing from the same hymn sheet. Yeah he had 2 and a half years but I believe eventually we’d be onto something despite some games being awful, especially our poor home record.

Now they’ve completely ripped it apart for reasons I don’t understand. They are absolutely mad. We won’t get anywhere with JL or BT running the show.

BT interview on sound of the city was embarrassing, getting flustered by the simplest of questions, wonder how he’d react if Twentyman asked them instead.

What those poor fools on OTIB don’t get is that JL and BT will appoint any successor.
Best stick with LM - or face having some lower league unproven manager thrust into keeping us in the Championship

Honestly I don’t go on OTIB or even read the posts but I go on other forums and yes we are all saying the same.
Supercon and a couple on here are pleased with it-but the majority are not.
I still think depending how the rest of the season goes with depend if he is hear or not.
One thing for sure if he does stay he needs a new team because he ain’t getting a tune out of the current players.
