I watched a lot of the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup FInal last night (by accident I hasten to add) between USA and Brasil. Apart from the fact that Brasil is not in CONCACAF, the general standard quite frankly was rubbish. The one goal was a well taken header but other than that very poor fare on offer from two supposed powerhouses of women's football.

I read somewhere that the USA team has fallen behind Europe and the ROW, and on this showing it certainly has, along with Brasil.

Paint drying has more appeal.

Alex Morgan is still worth a watch mind.

 

lincoln are making a run for the division 3 play-offs. followed saturday's 5-1 win at barnsley with a 6-0 home win against cambridge and are now undefeated in 12. meanwhile, bolton, who are 3rd but going through a rough patch have beaten play-off hopefuls oxford 5-0 for only their 4th win in 12 and completing a miserable night for the university boat race teams. oxford are 8th, but they've had a miserable 2024.

but they still mess round too much getting it forward or it could have been 7 or 8...

Chesterfield could be promoted on Saturday, it's some going to be promoted in March, they also look like topping a hundred points and goals.

sickener at the Emirates - odious club and odious fans

 

National league is such a strange league to watch, but Chesterfield have a real chance of establishing as a league club again. I'm not very sure some of those former regular visitors to Bootherry who now find themselves in non league realistically do.

 

Is that a part of the support for EFL? I hope Bournemouth and Palace (my nephew works for them, so not sure I really mean that one) get relegated.

Bournemouth? The club who were wound up and had to reinvent themselves as AFC Bournemouth to remain in the Football league?

 

By far my most hated 'Top 4' club. I can't stand them. Their fans, Fabregas, Arteta. Awful club.

 

A lot of teams forget where they came from, the long term fans don’t.
Some of our very own fans seem to think we deserve to be PL because of our recent history.
The older generation understand we are a traditional second tier team, who occasionally get to the top table & then come back down, rinse & repeat, but it’s all just a bit of fun really!

 

Bournemouth and Boscombe changed their name to AFC Bournemouth in 1971. Nothing to do with being wound up. They have never been wound up. They twice been in administration, first time over 25 years after they changed their name and both times in the name of AFC Bournemouth.

 

Yes,they've been close a couple of times,which makes it odd that they now consider themselves among the elite and unwilling to spread a bit of 'goodwill' to others less fortunate?

 

Wound up, administration, same thing in my eyes, its rearranging the goal posts to suit their needs. Now they want to pull up the ladder that they themselves clung on to for dear life.
Also its a bit naive to think a club changes its name for reasons other than avoiding paying someone, Hull Tigers being the exception.
