Why would either KS or the board listen to a 'warning' from the fans? The vast majority of fans knew nothing that really mattered about Beale. It's ridiculous to think that people operating as professionals, in whatever sphere, should listen to a bunch of rank amateurs with much less information available to them.

Just remind them Klopp is leaving and watch them run off in tears.

You're absolutely right mate, I totally agree.

I have to admit I play devil's advocate, quite a bit probably too much, and respond to OTT negativity with an alternative.

What I can't understand, and I've tried, is why there's an 'us and them' mentality with some people.

They seem to believe the club are working against the supporters, sabotaging our progress and deliberately avoiding promotion.

I just find that attitude idiotic tbh.

Even if KLD is only in it for greed, as some have posted here and elsewhere, he would surely be going for the PL at any cost.

At the moment him and Sartori are covering costs so what's the point of staying in this league ...

... he was at Hull, on Boxing Day, seriously, why would he do that unless he was committed to the club?

Oh aye mate. The line ‘even if he is here for the money’ isn’t even a negative in real terms, as you say if he wanted to ‘cash out’ on us that means PL.

He bought us rudderless in League One.

We’ve got a lot wrong last year or so on the first team side but I don’t believe it’s been through lack of effort, or desire.

We just need to pivot a wee bit. Spend to get the right manager and spend a wee bit extra to pay the level of experienced lads that will lift the young talents we have.

It’s been a tough few months but it’s not as doom and gloom as that and it’s really about just getting the next steps right, we can easily go either way.

I was at Hull on Boxing Day mate and believe me if I’d had the option of the south coast of France I’d have taken it <laugh>

It's a funny old world, there was me feeling all depressed because everyone else knows exactly what the club are doing except me. then someone posts something which restores (partially) my faith that only the club know what they are doing. The post: He's DEFINATELY the one they want IMO. So it's definite that the club want Still, but on the other hand it's only his opinion, so it's not actually definite is it?
I used to like Prefabs posts, quite entertaining and seemed to be in the know. Lately I am wondering who at SAFC has pissed on his fireworks? It must be Speakman, probably pushed by KLD, This might be why he has such a negative agenda with the club. Lighten up guys, you (most of you) know **** all, the same as me. As I realised this my depression lifted, and I saw red and white!

For all we know that's precisely the plan and what the club are aiming to do.

However it's also possible that we've tried hard to bring in Broadhead, Amad, Moore and this mystical CDM but have been knocked back the the clubs or players. KLD has said that money will be spent appropriately but perhaps that opportunity hasn't presented itself. Or perhaps it was hoped one of Jobe, Ekwah, Neil, Hume, Seelt, etc, might step up in that role.

I thought Neil would relish being captain but he vanished imo. Seelt and Rigg were demanded by the supporters but both were a little disappointing on Saturday.

This may sound absolutely crazy but I'd play Evans with Dack in front of him for the rest of the season, injuries permitting. There's plenty of talent in the squad but they do lose their way in games.

Just when we needed to take stick, at 2-2, we went gung ho and blew it. It was obvious Southampton would have to go all out attack which was when we could've broke and got behind them. Instead we're abandoning the midfield and allowing them to get at our defence.

I hope we learned a few lessons from that game.

Is the losing the way in games also partly down to poor coaching choices.

Cos we do, we do sometimes push the gas when we should hold or hold when we should be finishing teams.

This has straddled at least 3 gaffers now.

If we misjudge the players we sign it still counts as money spent unfortunately. Pretty sure we’ll not be making a profit, some signings just haven’t done it consistently yet.

To be honest I'd be more worried if they were ageing mercenaries like Grigg or Danny Graham.

I have no doubt Aouchiche, Ba, Ekwah, Jobe and a few others will become valuable players for us ...

... providing they're coached properly and settle into a position they're comfortable with.

At the moment you never know where they're likely to pop up.

The way we're back to producing 'home grown' players, after the academy was decimated, seems to suggest it's doing OK.

When we almost made the PL we were playing some fabulous football.

I just think that these players have had Johnson, Neil, Mowbray, Beale and Dodds flinging info at them.

We need a period of calm, some clever signings and our injuries back ...

... there's some players who could benefit from a run in the team, such as Seelt, but not a different position every game.

I think Saturday did highlight the need for some experience in the team - this is so important for game management - we got back in the game and then quickly lost our way, I have loved the way we approached things but feel a tweak is needed to really push on.

Aye meant more coaching for the games mate, not what’s happening at the academy which we all agree is doing great.

Agree, but it's more than a tweak. For us to push on,our management have got to get the next head coach appointment absolutely spot on and,in the summer, make the two or three fundamental signings we need. Really important we get it right.

I agree. The challenge we have is that they have to work at some point as they aren’t free and all of the 750k/1/1.5 million signings add up. So they have to work or we lose money. Pressure is on for them to perform. That needs them to play enough but be in a safe structure and supported by those who understand the division and can guide them. I’m not sure we haven’t expected some to develop more and maybe they haven’t because what experience we have is injured, our structure as you say isn’t right or some can’t reach as high as they were initially judged. I don’t think we’re far from getting that balance right but our misjudgments have limited our opportunity to fund players who can provide the right guidance.

We have to rely on the recruitment people,as there's an element of risk in every signing, particularly with younger players, particularly not native to the UK.
We have to accept that some will not work out,and that may be for a variety of reasons. We've had a couple of misjudgments, and we may be looking at a couple more at the end of this season, but, overall,I'm not unhappy with what I've seen from the lads that have come in. As you say, some will develop quicker than others, will settle quicker than others, will take to life with us quicker than others etc.etc. It's up to us to provide them with the support they need on and off the pitch.
    Particularly on! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

That is definitely true and the more tried and tested ones cost more but still don’t always succeed. It’s a tough that I wouldn’t want for certain.
