The fact that three of our main defenders are on 9 or more bookings is a telling indication that the CDM position is costing us.

I’d be interested for a statistician to find out how many of our goals conceded came within a minute or two of us losing the ball in an attacking position, especially since we lost Evans.

Our first team players are more than ok
Intact our match day 20 are fine
However the rest are not good enough and need to be replaced
When you buy players you are supposed to buy better players than we already have
That’s plainly obvious we have bought squad fillers
Now with all the injuries together with the suspensions
Our squad has proved to be extremely poor

Despite maybe my perceived negativity I was only one goal out and my fears seemed to be confirmed
I was astounded when we pulled 2 goals back which did give us a glimmer of hope
But was never surprised when we conceded more
If Ballard is out next week I dread to think what will happen

Yes I am but I'm desperately unhappy with what has happened to us this season. I've no issue buying young lads with potential but we are doing that at the detriment of the here and now. We are sleepwalking into a relegation fight despite being challenging for promotion via the playoffs literally a month ago. It's been poor decision after poor decision from the powers that be and that began straight after the Luton defeat in the playoffs. We've signed players who aren't ready and are simply not good enough for this level. If we didn't hav Clarke we'd be sat 1 place above Rotherham right now and I don't think that's an over reaction.

I'm looking at the future minus Clarke and quite possibly Ballard and Neil and I'm seeing a very poor squad. We've gone from being a team playing good attractive football with talented young players to a team that can't score goals can't keep clean sheets and plays absolutely dire football. We were the darlings of sky as we were great to watch now nobody wants to watch us.

If you disagree with any of that then please go ahead but don't simply be sarcastic if you think I'm over reacting.

Losing games is never fun, losing lots of games isn't fun, but this constant dissection of "the model" when we lose is exhausting

That’s basically pointing out if we didn’t have injuries we might be ok except for the Stewart sized hole.

    You correct we’ve gone backwards
Simply brought in players worse than we already had

It’s not ‘the model’ it’s a bad execution of it. The same model was ok a season and a half ago. They just signed players not ready to play at this level.

People pining for Gooch, Batth and Pritchard are ignoring their complete lack of impact at their new clubs. The model isn't about instant success, it's laying the foundations for years to come. Yes our squad is weaker than last year, but the league is also much stronger. The injuries are what have cost us

personally think the injuries are down to not rotating players.
Been saying for ages we need to rest Ballard Clarke jobe etc they’ve played every minute all season it’s not practical imo.

Jobe is the only one of the players you mention who needed (needs) as rest. Clarke is our best player and there is no way he could/should be rested. His injury was an impact injury and nothing to do with fatigue

Rotation is great with our top 20 players the rest a just squad fillers who shouldn’t be any where near the 20 players match team
    Sadly a recruitment problem
