No man’s land again from them, miles off. Still can’t set their car up in any window- looks like it’s doing the same as the last two despite looking different. I think their floor and suspension is where they can’t solve things so far.
the second Mercedes looked so chuffed after having a very average time in practice in Bahrain the writing was on the wall. that team had a serious brain drain and was over reliant on engine advantage for years. they are just not getting it done. the ferrari can't live with the red bull over 10 laps. the only hope is mclaren get closer and closer. right now the schedule not even due to Ramadan has means neither practice nor quali nor race suits me one bit and therefore I've seen nothing of any of the action this far. way to go f1. way to lose an audience. we've lose the entire practices and quali as people have to actually work to pay for their sky subscriptions. thr race is on at a terrible time tomorrow and I'll be watching football or doing stuff.
also the hard sell for Joshua v whoever it is all over the sky sports app and in the middle of the f1 quali thread I was trying to follow on the way home way to make it clear what your priority is sky.
Sad for Carlos, but happy for Oliver, he did a good job in the circumstances. Good for Ferrari to be relatively strong at another kind of circuit too.
yeah, his dad bought his son his way into F1, but he's had a decent mid grid F1 career so far, and he's up against Alonso. It's not like he's even Logan Sargeant bad. Talking of Alonso, would love to see Horner put him in the redbull when Perez gets the boot at the end of the year.
what I can see form the sector times in qualifying is the same phenomenon again. while verstappen is quickens in all 3 sectors alonso is 2nd and joint second ins s1 and s2 but falls away in s3. perez is around alonso in s1 a few 100ths down in s2 abut again right beside verstsppen in s3. no fall off over the lap. leclerc is slow is s1 and picks up time at the end. there's 2 blast sectors and then the middle sector of high speed cornering etc. verstappen actually gained most of this advantage in s1 and s3.
Wouldn’t be nice for Charles to actually jump Max into the first corner and fight him for a bit? Il watch the opening laps later and decide whether to continue. Thankfully the rugby is on to entertain us if we get the inevitable Max cakewalk. Although England may get smashed by about 50 by a brilliant Ireland side! Anyway - back to the F1- think we’ll get Max-Checo-Le Clerc finish and maybe Russell or the Maccas will nick P4 from Alonso if he isn’t good on his high fuel. If Alonso gets a SC with 12-15 laps left he could be fun to watch on light fuel and new tyres maybe.
I won't be watching. it's clashing with real sport England won't lose by that much mind. I think England will be one track but Ireland will not get a platform in set piece like they did v Wales and if they get sucked into air tennis with England then it might come down to discipline. England's defence is not bad. Wales did OK v Ireland but the penalties at scum killed them. if England can disrupt line out and dominate the scrum then Ireland will at least have to work for it. air tennis is England's problem. refuse to play at all in own half
