"It is worrying..." - Carlton Palmer hands Bristol City and Watford Championship warning Bristol City and Watford have slowly started to slip back into the relegation battle as the season draws to a close Palmer said: “Bristol City are on a terrible run at the moment, four consecutive defeats. Sometimes you have to say: 'Be careful what you wish for' in getting rid of Nigel Pearson. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/b...istol-city-and-watford-of-relegation-chances/ “I think it’s highly unlikely they will be relegated but they need a result or two, and quickly.
I think if we lose against Swansea and the performance is poor, fans will get more than restless and LM might get called in for the "vote of confidence"....and we know what that means!!..........I really hope that's not the case
Either way, he’s got to turn this around or we sack him Not what any of us want but it’s a results driven business and surely we don’t want to return to L1 ?
There may very well be worse teams than us but our problem is can we beat any of them? The Jekyll and Hyde versions of our team have different DNAs and our inability to win the absolute must games is suspicious at best and predictably bad when we need effort to climb up the table. I hate the term 6 point games but we may have many in front of us where wins are the only required result. Thankfully there is little left of this tumultuous season but if this situation was in January then I would have major fears about relegation to League One but the scariest scenario for me is that we will do our usual nothing in the summer. Should the owners fail to shore up what is now a poor squad with proven performers for next season then I fear we may see the lights of League One beckoning from not so far away early in the new camapaign.
Whether this happens or not in his press conference he says once the game starts there is nothing he can do to impact it, which is a complete load of bollocks.
the threat is there without a doubt because those teams that were 4 or 5 wins worse off than us are all in purple patch's there are 8 teams [ were ] just 6 points adrift before this post. Doesnt matter what the teams above us do ....except we wish them well to beat all the teams below us !!! 54 points [ according my reckoning ] is safe my pre season forcast had us averaging 13 points every 10 games last 6 games usually about 8-9 pts
Ipswich were a prime example of changing tactics to affect a game, they saw we were set up to stop them playing so changed their system. We just keep playing the same way, even to the point of like for like subs. Manning can blame the players, but he had to learn to change things mid game. If he can learn to do that and take some responsibility rather than blaming the players all the time he may turn things around, for us, and ultimately himself, if he cant he’ll fail and will soon be gone.
