    He's gone from slating us week in week out to giving us a possible point at OT. Jumping on the Toon bandwagon.

    Man Utd v Newcastle
    PAUL PREDICTS: 2-1
    I watched Man United in midweek and they missed Wayne Rooney's X-Factor. Newcastle went to Man City and played 4-4-2, so I think they'll do the same thing again here. I don't think Alan Pardew will complicate things because his players all know what they're doing. They are capable of scoring a goal and I wouldn't be surprised if it's a draw, but I'll go for United... just.

    Merson is a has-been. How these blokes still pull wages because 20 years ago they could kick a ball amazes me. Andy Townsend, Mark Bright , Dion Dublin , GARTH CROOKS ffs.

    To be fair, we can't complain with what Merson has said for once. He's half way to complimenting us!

    P.S, I rather like Dion Dublin. So much better than Ian Wright.

    Merson's still saying we'll get beat.

    Quite like Ian Wright, he has a football phone in show on Absolute radio on Saturday afternoons and talks a fair bit of sense(absolutely laid into Sepp Blatter) and is always complimentary about us, he used to play with Pardew at Palace and apparently they're still mates.

    I think what he says is fair enough tbh, most people don't expect us to get anything, but don't think we'll lie down either.

    What pisses me off is how they say 'United', when we are the only real United in the Premiership.

    He may still be saying we are going to get beat but at least he is complimenting us. What journalist wouldn't say we will lose to Man Utd we haven't won at their ground for 39 years. Although I think we will draw or win, if Rooney doesnt play.

    Really? Might have a listen sometime. Is Absolute on Digital?

    I just took my opinion from watching him as a pundit on England Internationals with the Beeb. Made me cringe sometimes.

    Yeah FM in London but I listen on DAB so it's digital too. Pards has spoken to Wright live on the show after games a couple of times this season. It's on 5 o'clock on Saturday afternoons.

    No think 90's does live commentary of a game each week but his show is on normal Absolute. Not to be confused with Absolute Rock, Absolute 60's, Absolute 80's, Absolute 90's

    Bit harsh that mate, Wrighty is ok, he wears his heart on his sleeve and he's a real football fan. Makes some bold statements at times in the heat of the moment but at least he's genuine.
