Roads around the Stadium are still closed - they need to decide BEFORE the team and supporters travel. From the Southampton web site: The ticket office will open as usual at 9:30am, while the store will open its doors from 10am. Visitors are advised to park in the North Car Park and proceed down the front of the stadium, passing by the Ted Bates statue, to access the store. This temporary arrangement ensures smooth access for customers while any necessary measures remain in place in response to the incident.
Jenson Seelt discusses his move from PSV Eindhoven to Sunderland https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...eelt-discusses-move-psv-eindhoven-sunderland/ By Scott Wilson WHEN Jenson Seelt left the youth ranks of PSV Eindhoven to move to Sunderland in the summer, he would have been expecting the occasional bump in the road as he embarked on the next step of his footballing journey. Nothing, however, could have prepared him for the rollercoaster journey that is life with the Black Cats…. “I’m really happy with my move,” said the defender, who progressed through the youth ranks at NEC before joining PSV’s academy set-up in 2017. “I’m dealing with the path I’ve chosen. I chose for Sunderland, and I will give everything to make it a good story. I think I’m in a good way and trying to develop and learn every day. “The intensity is so much higher than in Holland. Every moment you have to be on the front foot and keep focused because the games come really fast. But it’s really good for me.” Seelt accepts that results and performances have been disappointing, but insists that morale remains high, with the Black Cats squad determined to work with Dodds to ensure things begin to improve. “We have such a good group,” he said. “We’re not negative at all. The coach is talking to us and telling us to keep going with the progress we’re making and don’t let anything from the outside affect our focus. At the moment, we’re just trying to stay really close as a group. “We feel as though we’re close to a win, and that’s what the manager has said to us as well. We need to keep fighting until the momentum switches our way, and hopefully that’s going to be soon.” Sunderland’s next chance to get back to winning ways comes at Southampton on Saturday, with Seelt accepting there is a collective need for all of the club’s players to start improving their attacking output. The Black Cats have scored just two goals in their last five games, and remain without their leading scorer and attacking talisman, Jack Clarke, who is recovering from an ankle ligament injury. “It’s harsh, but in the end, we should look at ourselves,” said Seelt. “If you get into the spaces around the 18-yard box so much, we have to be more aggressive or maybe a little bit more brave. We have to find a way to score more goals because, in the end, it’s the only way we can get points.”
Ridiculous game with boatloads of goals. Fortunately most of them for us. 3-5. PS not expecting this but just trying to cheer myself up from the sh*te results recently. Cheers RTB.
I know some berate O'Nien but I fear we will miss him on saturday. TBH Im not really convinced by Hielde or Seelt who at times seems a bit ponderous imo. I think Saints will be up for it and I have a bad feeling 5-0 to the revenge seeking saints Dont worry lads Im normally wrong and sincerely I hope I am!
Not sure what to expect, we can be great, we can be awful. Line up, I would like to see Adil, Rigg and Rusyn start. Just hoping we play at a good tempo and not sit back while they pass the ball to death. Will be more than happy with a point
Ironically some of our best performances, last season, were when we had the most absences ... ... there's enough talent in the team, it's just a question of fate on the day.
I disagree, I'd love us to play a 'Liverpool lite' 433, Rusyn, Hemir, Mundle, Neil, Adil, Rigg. Fast tempo, long balls into the space with 2 of the midfield going Box to Box as back up to Hemir
I like it. Given how Jobe did better a bit deeper on Tuesday, we could do: Rusyn, Mundle Aouchiche Rigg Jobe, Neil With Aouchiche and Rigg buzzing about, we should be able to create some decent chances.
Southampton will have 65%+ possession but they give up a lot of good chances on the counter attack so tomorrow is all about us keeping shape and countering with speed. Hopefully we lineup nothing like Tuesday as speed in attacking areas is imperative. I think we'll get beat but put in a decent performance again. 2-1 Aouchiche to score.
It is taking it easy that causes injuries in my experience. How many muscle injuries when players are at full tilt?
Feels a bit weird this. 5 losses on the spin is horrendous, but we had a glimpse of something last time out. Like Liecester, southampton form isnt good. But in reality they are a much better squad than us. It feels like a game more about their attitude than ours. Dodds really has to step up at the minute motivationally, can he do it? I think he is looking a little lost personally. Rigg has to play. We will misd ONien in my opinion as Seelt doesnt look the part in my opinion, yet. I keep seeing a player who is really slow on the turn and who is positionally naieve. Hume was back to his best last time though and Ballard is immense. Can wr get Rigg and Neil as a 2 and in tandem. Chance them for some legs ahead of them - Adil, Rusyn, Ba. Keen to see Adil over 90 mins. Overall just feel we are in a bad place, sadly. Goal scoring is such a problem for us. We all know the CF situation has really killed us this year, can anything come out of what is left of the season? Fingers crossed, but I suspect it might be another narrow loss.
Can't agree there mate. We have heart and never give up. Sheff Utd are in a bad place, once they go behind it's almost always 'game over' ... ... we took a massive blow, on Tuesday, gritted our teeth and went for it. These kids have courage and deserve a bit of luck tomorrow, they've had every little recently.
