2019/2020 Premier League, Euro Super Cup, FIFA World Club Cup I know two of those are micky mouse cups, still a treble!
For the first time in the Premier League history, three teams have more than 60 points after 27 games. please log in to view this image
what's interesting to me is 4th is on 55 and 5th could be on 53. we are 10 points ahead of 5th worst case so from 11 more games we need 2 points per game even if spurs go on a winning streak. probably more like 1.5ppg which would be 17 point for 6 wins from 11. however I think 80 to to get 4th would be mad so 75 should be fine. spurs won't win that many. right now 96 points is possible and pretty much 90+ will be needed to even get close.
JONES KNOWS BEST HAVE GONE FOR 2;2 DRAW. If it looks like draw, quacks like a draw, then it's probably a draw. These two clubs under these managers are like a good marriage - impossible to separate. Just look at the last 17 games between the two. Six wins for Liverpool. Six wins for Man City. Five draws. The Jurgen Klopp vs Pep Guardiola numbers also showcase the competitive nature of one of the great managerial rivalries. In 29 games between the two legendary coaches, Klopp has won 12, Guardiola 11 and there have been six draws. We're still very early in this 'run-in' period and if you offered both managers a draw now, I think they'd be taking it. There is so much football to be played. There's a strong possibility the game may head down the same avenue as the previous fixture this season that ended 1-1 where the last 30 minutes were a non-event. And the last time these two met in a first vs second battle during a run-in it ended 2-2 in 2022 when City went on to win the Premier League title by one point. You can get 100/30 with Sky Bet for both teams to score and the game to end in a draw, meaning every correct drawn score is covered apart from the 0-0. Playing with a high-line and squeezing the game is so important to both these managers, so I'm always interested in the total offside count when teams of this nature and quality meet. There have been 64 offsides in the last 11 meetings between Liverpool and Man City in all competitions - that averages out at 5.8 per game. Yet the market has their total offside line lower than that average with five or more offsides available at 11/8 with Sky Bet and even four or more offsides is a tempter at 4/6. SCORE PREDICTION: 2-2 | JONES KNOWS' BEST
I'd take a draw today. if we had 10 games to win to win the leavue with it all in out hands I think anyone would have bitten your hand off for that before the off. if we win we put city 4 points behind with 10 to play and keep arsenal behind but imo that's still a win 10 sort of thing with just room for one draw. if we lose then imo it's totally out of our hands and highly unlikely to swing back our way with the fixtures left unless arsenal do a massive favour then cock up. any positive result will be amazing.
Because I can't be bothered to search online, anyone like to tell me what Trent said about City that JK has had to play down?
”Looking back on this era, although they've won more titles than us and have probably been more successful, our trophies will mean more to us and our fanbase because of the situations at both clubs, financially. How both clubs have built their teams and the manner in which we've done it, probably means more to our fans.”
A draw is not going to be a bad result, but also depends on Arsenal's result today. They have a better goal difference, and are going to top the league.
I won't be upset with a draw but definitely don't want to sit back and play for one. The times we've beaten City is when both teams were playing for a win from.the start. This isn't a two horse race, it's a three horse race. A draw is definitely still two points lost. So no, I wouldn't "take a draw" now if offered, I would want to play for a win... But I won't be overly sad if draw is what it is.
This^. I would never, ever "take a draw" before a game (unless it was one where a draw was sufficient - like a group stage or two-legged game). Play to win, always. I'd still be disappointed if we drew tomorrow, but I'll accept it, because it could be worse. Depends on the game too - if we're under the cosh a draw might be a good result, but if we're on top and don't take opportunities to win then it would be a disappointment.
I'm not playing for anything. klopp wont and would never play to draw. I'd happily take a draw right now if offered as a fan
Same. Football is football. Hoping not to lose out playing for a draw isn't true football, play for the win every time. Sin high and see what happens. Besides... We'll ****ing smash'em
