Good Morning. It's Friday 8th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

49ers new ticketing system getting mixed reviews

Leeds United have announced that they are introducing a new ticketing system that will see season ticket holders at risk of losing their seats unless they attend at least 80% of league matches at Elland Road

The 49ers announced their controversial plan, at the same time they made public their renewal prices for the 24/25 season, and it's received mixed reviews from the Elland faithful.

Due to work commitments, or living outside of Yorkshire, some fans are unable to get to every match, especially the midweek ones. Many die hard Whites have have the same seats for years, and the risk of losing them has caused anger and resentment.

Others see it as a positive step, with more fans able to watch their team in action, whilst shortening the waiting list.

Is Joseph next in line after Bamford

Mateo Joseph's brace against Chelsea last month may have moved the 20yo up the pecking order, ahead of Joel Piroe.

Leeds had to fend off offers from a host of clubs in order to land Piroe last Summer, finally capturing the Dutchman for a hefty £12m. He is Leeds joint second top scorer with 11 goals, but has faded into obscurity in 2024. His lack of pace gave Daniel Farke cause for concern, and switched him to a deeper role.

Creatively speaking, it was always going to be difficult to dislodge Rutter from the team, so Farke tried a role reversal which saw the Frenchman leading the line, and Piroe at 10, but that didn't work either.

Bamford's re-emergence from oblivion saw Piroe dropped to the bench, and since then his performances have just got worse. As well as a fresh pair of legs, Joseph's rapid rise up the ladder couldn't have come at a better time.

Good strikers are hard to find, and Joseph not only has a natural ability to score, but due to his age can put himself about a lot more than Bamford, who can be static at times.

Morning all. Think the division we play in next season will determine where Piroe plays. He's definitely one who is not pl standard unless with a bottom of table outfit. The number of clubs are growing by the day under investigation for ffp breaches. Leicester, Chelsea and Villa all mentioned yesterday. Wonder will covid years be used as a get out of jail card for them all. Can't see all of them getting points deductions.

    Morning all.

The ticket thing is a non issue as you can allocate your ticket to another member or return to the club for resale. Doing either of these counts towards your 80% attendance. All the club are doing is trying to stop seats being vacant at matches which is a good thing. Obviously we all sometimes have late issues which means at the last minute we can't make it (hello Mr Sleepy Head) but surely that wouldn't happen often enough for anyone to miss more than 20% of home games.

Personally thought he was bang average as all he was brought on to do was man mark Ben Pearson and he didn't even have the pace to be able to do that effectively. My grandmother who's now sadly deceased could have done just as good a job.

Maybe he looked better after the sending off but I'd sort of made my mind up on him by then.

    Good morning everyone
Fingers and just about everything else crossed for tonight.
I must admit I to have Been disappointed with Piroe, scored for fun in the championship for Swansea, but realy struggling with us, and does bugger all, reminds me of the Lump we bought from Millwall a while back (whose name escapes me), scored a lot for them, but was crap for us and a complete waste of a team space.

In Piroe's defence he never stops trying, seems to be fully supportive of everyone in the team and never sulks. Problem is he's now behind Bamford and Joseph as a number nine and he just doesn's seem that great at ten, although were Rutter to get injured we'd probably have to play him there.

Blimey, he's not that bad! Did Morison even score a goal for us?

Maybe i am being a bit harsh on Piroe, but we surely bought him to score goals, which he ain't, not for his midfield creative duties, just seems like were trying to slot him in somewhere to justify the 12m odd we paid for him.

Without Piroe we'd have struggled at the beginning of the season as Bamford was injured and so was Joseph.

Get your point though and for that kind of money it does seem like he doesn't quite fit. However it's squad game these days and maybe he just needs more game time to get that little bit sharper in and around the box.

He was the one who actually got us up the pitch a bit.

Farke named Manager Of The Month for February. That's his third this season. First manager to do that since Don Revie. <applause>

I'd have to watch it again and can't be arsed so I'll take your word for it.

It gives me no pleasure being critical of our players especially if it's not justified <ok>

Sometimes with strikers/10's it's just a style of play thing. With Piroe I recall a lot of clubs 'looking' at him after his spectacular first year with Swansea and the concern was the goals he scored were too good. ie it's just not repeatable to bang in as many goals from outside the box as he did on a regular basis... they weren't sure his all round game/athleticisim was up to it. His second year was less spectacular but still a good return. Either way his goal scoring record in the champ is impressive and it's been ok for us too. In the modern game the question is whether a 'goal scorer' is a luxury if they can't do the rest of the job. It may be he's just not a perfect fit for our system.

Personally, I'm fine with him as a squad option - he's two footed and is a good finisher when the chances fall for him.... and if others are doing better and keeping him out of the team, well that's a good problem from our perspective.

Been really impressed with Joseph's all round game in his last two matches.

I just looked it up and we actually bought him from Norwich (I say bought, he was the makeweight in the deal that took Becchio to Norwich - what a ****ing great deal that was!). He was at Millwall before going to Norwich and he went back to Millwall after failing miserably with us.

It was the combination of the words "lump", "crap" and "Millwall" that brought him immediately to mind.

When he came back to Millwall he scored for fun again. It’s all about knowing how to play some players. Tresor Kandol was another that didn’t do it at Leeds but scored a good few when on loan to us.

It’s more to do with dropping down a couple of levels in standard
