With the news that Rachuba has been loaned out to Tranmere and Bruce has gone to Huddersfield but no news of Obrien going to West Ham they are obviously working on him terminating his contract so he will be free to sign for anyone. What are your thoughts on this my are Ican,t believe we would release him without getting some kind of fee for him
No, he's our worst defender who had one good game and has now decided he doesn't want to play for us anymore. Paddy, Lees, O'Dea and Bromby are all better IMO.
From the sound of Bates' YR interview and what Grayson has said, O'Brien has had something going on in his personal life. Maybe he's depressed or something. Doesn't sound like it's the simple engineering of a move to West Ham/disagreement with the manager that we all thought. Weird that the man himself hasn't spoken yet. AKCJ, O'Brien was decent at Leicester as you say and did well before his permanent transfer last season, but has been a let-down 80% of the time he's played for us and his confidence has looked shattered and resulted in him making multiple, costly errors. I (like Simon) rate Kisnorbo, O'Dea and Lees above him. Bromby on a par with him, current form aside. Can't see the Rachubka or Bruce moves doing us any harm. Hopefully they'll both impress moderately and get signed in January which will get them out of the dressing room and the wage books. Not sure if I'd like to see Huddersfield get promoted with the help of Bruce. Suppose I would, they're just a small, harmless Yorkshire club after all.
I thought both of your centre halfs played exceptionally well and your front two exceptionally poor. Is this the same man that wants out? Any reason for it?
My cousin is actually good friends with him and got invited to his wedding in the off season but it got cancelled and the wedding never went ahead, im sure i posted this on here or it may have happened when i wasnt as active. This could be the reason but apparently it was him that called it off
Very interesting, and yes I remember that being posted. Is he still with his lass then or have they separated? Yes. As has been said, it's still guesswork at this point. Viable scenarios are A) personal issues B) disagreement with Grayson C) disagreement with Bates D) disagreement with training staff E) forcing move to West Ham F) disagreement with fans over alleged jeering. Looks like it might be A from what Bates has said on his Yorkshire Radio interview about the club 'offering him support'. You'd hardly 'offer support' to a player trying to force a move away for any of the other possible reasons.
Im pretty sure there are seperated now although i dont really talk to my cousin that often. Nothing was leaked as to why they broke up though
The AOB thing is getting confusing. I thought that by now we would have been told either that he'd been loaned out or that his contract was being cancelled. Neither have happened. So there maybe more to this story than it first appeared. Either way, don't care & we can settle on O'Dea/Kisnorbo/Bromby/Lees fighting for two starting spots & one spot on the bench. Interesting now to see what happens with Bruce. He's gone to Huddesrfield, probably as much to give him game time as anything else. Kisnorbo isn't getting any younger & O'Dea is only with us until then end of the season I think. How old is he again, I forget? Either way, if Bruce shines at Huddersfield, as I think he might, we could start next season with Bruce/Lees/Kisnorbo/Bromby all fighting for 3 spots. On Rachubka, much will depend on how he does at Tranmere. SG must have seen something in him to have brought him in the first place. He started off the season okay, but Coventry & Blackpool were as bad as it gets when he couldn't even do the basics right. He'll now have presumably until the end of the season to show whether he's got a footballing future & who with. If he stands out at Tranmere & keeps plenty of clean sheets, who knows he might just come back to us as No. 2 to Lonergan. Either way & with Taylor/Cairns now behind Lonergan for the next few months, let's hope we don't have any more nightmares between the sticks.
It's a very strange situation. I thought he was trying to move to West Ham or that he was pissed off about being part of crap defence/tactics. But seeing as he hasn't moved yet, I reckon there's another reason. Considering the club said it was such a shock, and the messages from KB didn't even criticise him that much (we all expected a typical Bates rant about this), there's got to be something else about this.
