Read this earlier. It’s basically “we should deduct points but you’re top of the league and would be a bit awkward right now so YOLO”.

Reading and Wigan fans may be a tad aggrieved. Fosse will give us a detailed analysis of the last three years of accounts to demonstrate no wrongdoing.

Oh. I don’t read past the headlines. Prefer being a sensationalist. Life is much more fun this way.

<laugh> whatever they do to us, Villa will be getting it twofold ... and they'll likely not be the only ones ... be ironic if Villa look like getting a CL spot until getting hit with a points deduction ..

I was talking about this with a couple of mates a while back. Until this is sorted, we are going to be going through every season with a handful of teams with points deductions mid-way through. No-one will ever know where they stand whether they’re challenging at the top or bottom of the leagues.

The whole FFP thing is bollocks - we tried to comply (no signings before the season) and got relegated ... Forest and Villa (sure they won't be alone) are way deeper in the mire ...

It's not Bollox though, if there's no FFP then teams like City could do what they want. Probably a bad example, teams like Newcastle could do what they want.

Me neither. Spend what you want but all clubs should have a certain amount in the bank at all times for when it goes tits up and suddenly can’t pay the tea lady or St John’s.

What ... you mean the teams spending the most money are likely to be the most successful? ... that's not very fair, is it?...

It's all bollocks - smoke and mirrors - what are you protecting against? - clubs like Citeh and Newcastle aren't gonna go bust with the owners they have ...

If you really want 'fair play' introduce a wage cap or some form of a draft system... but the powers that be are not remotely interested in really levelling the playing field ...

If they wanted fair play they’d scrap parachute payments for a start.

Before that it should be a divisional cap on total transfer fees per season ...

... but clubs will always find a way around it - particularly the wealthiest ones ...

You’d just get Chelsea-esque accounting. Fees are rarely all up front and most of our league and pretty much all of the leagues below barely pay fees now anyway. The gap between relegated clubs with the parachute money and everyone else will only get bigger so the Prem will get closer and closer to being a closed shop.

This is ruining football, this whole "Making sure clubs spend however much we tell them they can spend" bullshit.
Its about time the authorities realised football is now a business, and telling investors or owners they cannot invest into their businesses is backward as ****.
This "unfairness" in terms of some clubs having more money than other has always been there, it was there in the 60's, 70's and 80's, and was made all the more prominent with the advent of the Premier League.
Either prices, wages, prize moneys and TV revenue gets capped and its made even across the board or they just need to stop trying to control clubs finances and let them do what the **** they want.
We are seeing points deductions and sanctions all over the place. Reading got raped because of sanctions "Oh they dont have enough money to pay people, well instead of forcing their owner out and helping them, we'll fine them and deduct points so they get relegated, that'll help ease their money problems".
    Absolute ******ed on all levels.
Everton now getting messed around. And yet when it comes to PSG, Real and City, they wont do **** all.
Clubs keep finding legal loop holes to spend more money, like Chelsea did with the contract length thing, and then the authorities come up with new ways to close the loop holes....its tiring. I just want to enjoy football.

well, it regards to City,Real and PSG, first they have to prove they've lied, with Everton it was obvious they had. they tried to claimed they'd lost 50% more than any other team in matchday revenue during corona virus when they have one of the lowest matchday revenues.
