I think last night was a mixture of everything. We burst a gut first half and should of had a a few goals. 2nd half we sat back and took no chances basically saying ok come at us and we will catch you out when you overload as they had too. To be fair Stoke are fighting for their lives and gave it a real good go. sometimes you just have to applaud effort and they certainly did that. I don't think we are tired just think the 2nd half didn't go to plan and to be honest we had the best chances in the 2nd half even though Stoke had plenty opportunities Joseph was very unlucky and their keeper's face saved the other great chance. Nothing is easy in this league and no matter who you play you have to work your bollicks off for it. I thought we were very good first half and nervy 2nd half afraid to get to high and give them any sniff of a mistake. it's history now and the 3 points went to us I'm sure we learned some valuable lessons in that 2nd half. 10 wins and a draw from 11 games is the best in the league let's be positive here we are on fire and currently playing better than everyone in this league let's talk about tiredness if we lose a few on the bounce bring on the Wendies Friday night in their cup final.
I’m not sure if you are aware champ but Jammy lives his lavish lifestyle by doing proper feck all renting properties out to impoverished people and businesses so has an abundance of time on his hands. For that reason, every now and again, when I am not hard at it on the coalface, I humour him and reply when (as you rightly say) it probably isn’t necessary
Refused to submit a business plan to the EFL and ruling went in their favour. One for Simon Jordan to explain tomorrow.
Pity that. Preston doing ok at the moment, just outside the top 6. Unbeaten in their last 5, collecting 11 points. Southampton have only gained 6 points in their last 5 games. Who thinks, being Leedsy, Preston will no doubt be on a nose-dive when they eventually play? 8-0? 10-0? Would not surprise me this season.
Just checked back on my previous posts, as I recalled posting something about this pre season when we were discussing our FFP situation. Found a post from early August concerning FFP, in which I also mentioned that clubs relegated from the EPL were exempt from having to do any financial reporting before the end of December. Given that the business plan submission is meant to be as a consequence of the December financials, I can understand why Leicester say it doesn't apply to them, as it wouldn't apply to us or Southampton. However, I was remiss in not actually quoting the rule or providing the link to the site where I read it, and a quick Google search hasn't brought up where I found it, and I'm not inclined to read through the EfL rules for about the 6th time this season From what I've read of the Leicester situation, I agree with their stance, as it seems to tally with what I was referring to back in August, when referring to our own FFP situation. However it was over 8 months ago, it was just a 2 line throwaway comment in my post without any actual corroboration, that seems to be related to the Leicester situation. But I could easily be wrong as I am relying upon something I remember reading almost a year ago
I’m presuming that us and Southampton did submit plans as Leicester were the only club subject to the EFL legal action?
Thanks Marcos… As a landlord he’ll have needed a Teflon coating for dealing with the tax man which explains the eel-like qualities he admirably demonstrates here on a daily basis.
We would have submitted financial accounts and not been asked to submit a business plan. The way I understand it, is that Leicester have won their appeal on the basis none of the 3 clubs should've been required to submit 3 years of historic financials , the latest being as at 31 march 2023 (as this had already been approved by the EPL), but should be required to submit 2 years of historic financial for 2022 and 2023 plus current financials, which aren't due until 31 March 2024, before any breaches occur. This kind of ties in with what I posted back in August, saying that teams relegated from the EPL have a 6 month moratorium on financial reporting.
