Can you point out were I've said it isn't £13m? All I've done is ask you were you got £13m from, which you can't seem to answer.... You've (and neither has any fan) no idea if it's £13m or what the figure is.

Blimey, mate, I had no reason to use the ignore button. Was interested to see the range of comments, many of which I agree with, but just felt a bit like we were talking ourselves into a crisis. I felt a bit the same about Liam's post match interview last night. A time for calm heads.

The max averaged over a 3 year period is 13m increase per year. Club are quoted as investing the max. They are also quoted as being in the probationary period where enhanced auditing takes place to ensure compliance is sustainable. It's as good a ball park figure as any and illustrates that cumulative investment is the name of the game over time. You don't go from a L1 budget to promotion challenging budget in 4 transfer widows unless very lucky indeed.

And if we do sell for profit, headroom (not necessarily spending) but headroom will increase further.

And that in a nutshell sums up last nights match for me. We largely dominated a decent side (said it before, all Champ teams are decent) and made a load of chances that were spurned. As time went on in the second half, the team seemed to lose its nerve - the one that Carvalho ballooned over the bar seemed to be the turning point. The subs didn’t help much either, I was really surprised to see Abdus go off. And Birmingham fed off that, bought on a big lump, got one decent cross into the box and took a point.

At half time it looked like we’d win by two or three. The gradual draining of confidence amongst the team in the second half is what disturbed me.

As you don't, but youre arguing anyway if you want to go down that route. <laugh>

It's a simple fact that headroom increases an average of 13m a year in the championship as long as the owner is willing to invest it.

To prevent pages more of pointless nonsense...

You can lose £13m a year on average, over a three year period, that's an average so not an amount that you actually have to invest annually. You can lose £39m in year one and nothing in year two or three with the same outcome. Or you can lose £20m a year for two years, then flog a player to balance the books, we don't know exactly what the club's strategy is, though you can obviously make an educated guess.

As I've already said, feel free to point out where I said I knew or what figure it was....I just asked you where you got the £13m and all you can say it's £39m divided by 3 is £13m.

Truth is you've actually no idea ( as I've said nobody fan wise does ) because we've no idea what losses have been incurred this season etc.

"Omur and Tufan best players on the pitch" and then we take them off ableit at different times. I actually thought Tufan had one of his poorer games for us thats at least by his standards. We all moan about how slow we are to get forward, Tufan, a I continue to bang about, with his first time pasing abilities has the where with all to break down the midfield stasis and thus create chances, Of course I can continue to bang on about this but unless LR is reading this forum or someone has his cell number then this post like all the other excellent advice and well considered suggetions on this forum will fall on deaf ears as evidenced by yesterdays game where we should have scored 6 yet could only manage 1 and then that was a goal by the "Arm of Tufan".

And the educated guess part comes from the fact we are still under enhanced EFL scrutiny, we didn't exceed that in the first year and the noises coming out of the tan 1904 interview as well as the tigers plus chat with tan and Acun is that will continue next year independently of player sales and they're at pains to emphasise that they haven't shot their bolt this season.

Well LR described it 'as feeling like a loss' and at this time of the season as we have all mentioned time and time again its about impetus. After Southampton I thought great, we have lift off, but in truth we made hard work of that in the end through not going at half time 6-0.Since then, we have been pretty merrrrrr, did the team think thats it job done. It looks to me like 1 from 3 Us, Norwich and Covemtry. Robbins has taken Coventry there before, Wagner has got a team promoted. They know what to say and know what to do. .I'm not sure this 3 week break is going to help more than hinder.

    Logically you are right.
However, when it's your own comments that are repeatedly getting twisted, bizarrely mis-intrepreted, etc it's not so easy to just let it go (or to put on ignore).
p.s. it's a pity you will never see this reply, only someone's twisted interpretation of what I've just posted :emoticon-0105-wink:

I don’t think we have had a bad recruitment year but to get promoted you need goals. You need a striker that can score 15 to 20 goals and another cracking in 10 to 15. We haven’t got either of these players and so we probably won’t get promoted. Whose fault it is I don’t know but without a striker in the team we won’t make it.

p.s.. sorry for the negative post but the lack of this player is the reason we can’t close down home matches. Away matches rely more on breakaways from wingers etc., j

We have 2 forwards on 8 and 1 on 9 and another on 7 with a quarter of a season left. Whether they're split between 3/4 players or 1/2 the end result is the same, just less reliant on specific individuals who when they get injured (as our last 10+ no 9 had a habit of being) you have little chance of scoring.

I hear what you say but if one of those forwards had 15 goals by now we would have turned draws into wins.

    Can't disagree with that logic.

What's the going rate for a proven, reliable 20 goal championship striker who works as a focal point for the team and not just a tap in merchant ?

20m? Which is about what we've spent in fees combined since Acun took over.

He's had known problems at Boro too, if he hadn't he'd be playing his trade in the division above based on his ability alone.
