I agree, but some of his decision making last night could have been better.. (not saying he is to blame or is a bad player) Few chances we missed and the subject wouldn’t have cropped up.. We need to get past this season and as you’ve pointed out, we need some quality signings in the summer.. There’s been a lot of criticism regarding LM but I like how he sets out a team and his tactics.. I believe with the right signings we will be a force.. Bearing in mind we had some key players out through injury.. For the record…I much prefer LM’s tactics than I did Nige’s.. used to cheese me off how we tried to sit on a lead..
I agree with your points as regards LM, give him time and follow up with some quality but needed signings, with regard to comparisons I much preferred Nige to LJ, I liked hs maturity and leadership qualities after a substaind period waffle, gizmos and other issues, I like the direction LM is developing but he needs time, funny how most of us disagree about Nige and LJ but LM could be good for the future.
I didn't dislike Nige at all and was as shocked as anyone that he was fired.......personally I still think it was mutual because of Nige's health and the results weren't great.. I just much prefer LM's setup, style and tactics........by I also understand he needs to possibly adapt even if it's ugly to get results......just to make us safe. IMO we need to be active early pre-season in the summer regarding signings etc and then I believe we will have a descent go next season... In the mean time, results are key to keep us in this division
Setup, style and tactics are all very well, but not when you're losing over 2/3rds of the games in change and heading the wrong way down the table.
Big game for LM Sunday as the next two are extremely tough-weimann scoring the winner for wba hopefully he cannot play against us.
I’m just pointing out that Nige needed the same quality to get us challenging for a top 6 place and wasn’t given the funds to buy what we needed The direction the club is being steered in and the decisions behind it are very questionable
perfect response - When Nige was the manager it was always Niges fault even though the injuries and best players were taken away from him. Now Liams in charge it all about injuries to players and he has a limited squad. Nowt to do with Liam.
Of all the Nige interviews that I watched, he always stressed that he didn't want to bring players for the sake of it.....In other words he thought he could progress with what we had...
Only blamed Nige for sitting on a lead, tactics.....and quite often still losing.......and defensive we were often dreadful..... As for taking best players away...wouldn't be the first time and not just under Nige!!
Agreed, rather than waiting for next season, had we invested in a few quality players last summer we could have been in with a shout this season, we didn’t because our agenda was to hamstring Nige in order to get him out of the door. Sums us up in a nutshell.
