Ha, ha, another win and anti-football playing Plymouth get nothing for their 'effort'. A terrible match to watch but a fantastic result to get.
Today also showed how we've stepped up to the challenge of the Championship but they'll struggle to stay up (much like the Wendys)
The Gaffer's take away. Not a pretty game, but we showed resilience, toughness, determination. 1st half, we missed too many simple passes. They tried to take Hutch out of the game, and were happy to spoil. The ref was a shocker. Our defense played well especially Axel. Strong, no nonsense, always gets something out of a tackle and powerfully surges forward. Covers Woolfy's ar..e too, tho he played ok too. Burgess is a real presence, Davis was quiet for him, and Hladky got lucky with his horrible close tippy tappy out the box passes. Whittaker always poses a threat and should have scored. 2nd half we grew into our own game, more chances, Moore threatened and Davis pushed higher up. Hutch bewitched and dazzled, causing more problems. Plymouth were poor, and quite different from when Schumacher managed them. Got lucky with 1st goal but deservedly went ahead. We have adjusted remarkably to this league, while Plymouth on this form, will be heading back down. Good riddance! Moore gets his well taken goal and I liked Ali Hamadi's powerful runs and strong presence up front. Strong, skillfull player, he deserves more minutes now. And our 'favourite' sub Harness comes on and commands & controls the game to see it comfortably out. Morsy excellent as ever. Of course we missed Broady & Burnsy, but hey, that was a great result in the circs. Can we stay in the top 2? With this momentum and confidence, and others wilting, yes we can! Played 35, lost 4, ridiculous.
That doesn't mean you have to go over and wind them up. They won the league last year ,don't you know???
I was referring to the Leeds lot who have been on here every week during their winning streak, but not this weekend for some reason.
Remember, winning a League One trophy ahead of big clubs like Town and Sheffield Wednesday is a big deal for them.
Leeds fans are too busy calling for farke's head Dumb ****ers!! Still plenty of twists and turns ahead, Leicester could drop out all together. We have a couple of winnable games but then another bastard streak. I think much depends on injuries, we certain can't afford to lose Kieffer or Morsy!!
