Exactly what I hoped wouldn't happen. We need to evolve now to have the confidence to keep pushing second half. Unfortunately our situation doesn't lend itself to any whiff of exuberance.
Was able to go to this game We were cruising for about 65 minutes, Blackburn offered very little. Then a lot of substitutions and Paterson off injured changed the game. They got a goal after a cheap free-kick on the edge of our area and it was predictably backs to the wall for the rest of the game. Still, we held out for the 3 points. Well done
Makes you wonder if 50 points will be enough to stay up, anyone from Sunderland and below could end up being relegated.
My Watford season ticket holder reckons they're playing terrible and the recent loss at home to Huddersfield was the worst they've played in years.
I think there has only been three times in the last twenty years where 50 points hasn't been enough to stay up. The usual safety figure is around 45 points. I would suggest that this season the survival target will be somewhere between 48 and 52 points.
