6 points of bottom three lose against Ipswich and Swansea’s next we could be bottom three that is the reality. QPR-STOKE-SHEFF WEDS all won today.
My issue with Manning is I don’t think we’ve gone a goal down and came back to win. We’ve had a few come back to draw but not win.
Yes you were missing tens of millions. As you are missing the tens of millions that were removed from the clubs losses and the massive reduction in wages. Without that created equilibrium (balance) BCFC would have breeched FFP. Without that equilibrium (balance) BCFC would not be in position where it can significantly increase spending.
Unfortunately for all the wrong reasons I was unable to watch the game this morning as Ann had a medical emergency but all has settled down a bit since the early morning scare. When I just got home I saw the result that I was expecting and yet again we failed to win a vital match, and now we only have to look downwards in the table to see how close the relegations places are for us to avoid. Were the crowd hostile at any time or are they prepared for more mediocrity under the current owner and his go to man in Liam Manning? I really don't think we have hired a manager capable of handling the Championship and although we have a bunch of key players on the treatment table the results are reflecting his methods, which are not producing the results necessary to keep us away from the bottom group. The post match comments are starting to reek of the same old rhetoric we heard from all of his predecessors and excuses are no longer acceptable and open up the route to so many unanswered questions. Managers should not be held accountable for mistakes made at the very top and I wonder if Liam is regretting falling for the hype he was given during his 5 minute interview? Nothing will change at Bristol City while the Lansdowns are in charge because their decision making over the years when it comes down to key issues regarding managers and players are laughable and almost shameful.
Pretty hostile at the end Mike, booed off the pitch, Manning and the players got loads of verbals going over to the section 82 corner in the south stand, Joe Williams was the only one who held his hands up apologising
Family is far more important than football Mike - I hope Ann is ok and pulls through whatever it was.
How sad it is to have that happen but I think most of the anger is directed at the Lansdowns and Liam is the conduit by which they get the news. SL and JL may very well hear the boos but they will never get the message that they send, and that is do something to better this perpetual under performing football squad that has totally lost the plot and can't punch their way out of a wet paper bag. I wonder if they have ever bothered to look at the scorers table where there isn't a single player of ours in the top 15/20, whereas many others have 2 good scorers in that table. I almost get the impression that success is not in the business plan, despite all of the promises surrounding the potential new stadium several years ago, because there is a fear of what it will take and how much it could cost. Bristol City should be an annual top 8/10 contender but due to our owner's reticence and strange decisions we are faced with much more of the same, which could mean we suffer another relegation back to the wilderness. Looking at the league table and the games coming our way in the month of March I fear the bottom 4/5 looks to be our next destination. Was I being unrealistic by wanting an 80th birthday present from City to give me a smile for tomorrow? Obviously the answer is yes you silly old fart. P.S. Thanks for your thoughts bcfcred but the situation is not too good and for it to happen the day before such a special birthday just adds sadness, but all is not lost. The celebrations are on hold for now and will be held when the outlook is brighter after further examinations on Ann. Excuse my rantings but this site is a blessing for me and the people I chat with are great when it comes to family issues.
Lamsdiwn has had decades to get us up and has totally failed, and I have to ask whether he EVER really wanted it ? Sell the club and get out asap You’ll be remembered as nothing but a failure where it mattered the most On the pitch !
Mike mine and our forums good wishes are with you and Ann of that you can rest assured, we also share your frustrations with Bristol City but that is just a joy or burden we all have with you, may we say have a memorable 80th birthday..
I personally think they are not playing for him-where under Pearson they ran through brick walls. The blame is not with Manning we would all have taken the job What I do blame is SL for letting JL throw his toys out the pram and remove Nige and then replace a highly experienced manager with a rookie. If he was to replace Nige then he should have gone for another experienced guy as good or better than Nige. We have a rookie who is clearly out of his depth at championship level.
They are soo slow in their build up teams have time to set up, if your going to do this tippy tappy stuff it needs to be quick and incisive. I didn’t watch today, had other family stuff to do, I listened to the second half and they were awful….. again. I hate to be reactionary but I can’t see this ending well, please god I’m wrong.
I was in wales today glad I was not there-I opened my phone to see we lost -no surprise there-but look at the games coming where do you see points coming from. Scarey **** ahead.
