well all in the melting pot and as i said a while ago Leicester havent felt pressure and now are feeling the pressure when everyone in the media had them breaking records.
Why all the doom and gloom because we drew. Just look at how we have closed the gap... When did we last lose a league game?
Just got in, first thing to look at was the other results and hope they go our way, but apart from Leicester Southampton grab a 96th minute winner, and as someone else mentioned on this board, which amused me greatly, Ipswich are similar to a wasp, they will just not go away, winning surprisingly at Plymouth ( i realy thought they would drop a point or two their). So to summarise we have had better footballing days than today On a happier note we will not be facing a brutal bunch of cloggers like Huddersfield every week. I HOPE
Leeds' Daniel Farke: "I'm far away from punishing my players for their performance. We have won 28 points out of the last 10 games so I won't criticise them because they didn't have their best game. Individually they didn't have their best day. But you have to expect that sometimes. "We have to draw a line under that pretty quickly. It's difficult when a team defends and that's all they do. "It was a quick turnaround for us and the pitch was not easy to play. We created chances, we got the equaliser, but it was a bit like a cup game with how scrappy it was. "We had to rely on the offensive players to put the ball into the net. We should have won, Summerville hit the post. But we have to accept the point."
Today reminded me of a Jesse Marsch performance where the opposition would disrupt Leeds with break up play and time wasting - and we just couldn't get in the game. Huddersfield were always going to try and disrupt us. I'm amazed we didn't start with James. His pace would have terrified their defenders. Gnonto / Gray did not give the side balance down the right flank. Gnonto always wants to cut inside, whilst Gray does not look natural out wide. It was not a shock that Leeds equalised two minutes after James and Roberts came onto the pitch.
Had to shoot off at 1-0 down to the lads 5 a side tourney. Just finished watching the game. Its an away point at the end of the day. Take it and move on. Is it me or do we try and walk it in too much at times.
It seems all the Championship teams who played FA Cup ties this week struggled today. Southampton got away with it just but Coventry (last night) Leicester and Blackburn all lost whilst we couldn't find our usual form and struggled to even come away with a point against 10 men. Hopefully whichever division we're in next season we've learn't the lesson that cup runs always catch up with you eventually.
It’s at times like this you have to hold your nerve, nothing’s decided this month. Yes disappointing we didn’t get the win, in truth we hardly deserved to. Dog Botherers put in a decent display, played to their set piece strengths, broke play up at every opportunity, wasted time, once they were in front, and more so after the sending off. I thought they might score from every corner or free kick(in our half). Truth is we are naive, when up against these kinds of teams. We go down as if shot, at the slightest nudge, Gnonto and Georgie being the worst offenders. Most refs, don’t buy it. Teams know they can dominate physically and when they do, particularly in away games, it knocks us completely out of our stride. Job done. Reckon it’ll be the same against Stoke and Millwall. Hopefully we learnt a lesson yesterday. There’s been a bit of a dip in Kamara’s performances, so like others have said I’d bring Roberts in and switch Archie to midfield for our next game. As disappointed as I was yesterday, I’d rather watch the football we play than that of Dogs/Stoke and Millwall. Funnily enough although Preston are built, in some respects along similar lines, they try to play football.
Some observations having only seen the extended highlights: Does Kamara not know how to shoot - first time shot on early chance would probably have gone in. His scuffed passed to Summerville caught him slightly unawares and in turn he didn't get a good shot off. Gnonto needs to be told to stop giving cheap freekicks anywhere in our half. Our defence is so slow to react as shown by their goal - they were all just standing still. Time to put in Roberts at right back and move Archie to midfield. Typical that we didn't get the record 10th win against the Dog Botherers but at least we didn't lose. Bloody Southampton getting a very late winner and Dipshit still churning out wins means it ain't gonna be easy but then nobody thought it would be.
Tuesday Leeds United 19:45 Stoke City Sunderland 19:45 Leicester City Ipswich Town 20:00 Bristol City Wednesday Southampton 19:45 Preston North End
Sunderland lost 4 in a row v Leicester lost 3 in a row. Might as well draw it lads Ipswich won 5 in a row, Bristol lost 3 in a row since beating Southampton, you know what to do City Also a chance for Sheff Weds to win 4 in a row in their massive home game against Plymouth. Preston unbeaten in 7 since losing at the mighty whites
Surely Leicester will come out fighting now and Southampton will be buoyed by their last gasp winner…
