...be interesting to see how some of the Henderson runners fair today. I quite like Jango Baie but likely the stable has a bug kicking around.

 

Just seen on the Ivy Grower’s daily blog that Mark Bradstock has died. The man who won the Gold Cup with the novice Coneygree. A brave decision which wasnt just vindicated by his win but also as Coneygree got injured thereafter and never got to defend his title. RIP

 

Sad news, indeed. RIP Mark

The Class-1 Greatwood Gold Cup Handicap Chase (13:55) at Newbury, over a distance not too far short of 2m4f, on the expected heavy ground, is interesting because one cannott dismiss any of the 9-runners as having ''little or no chance"? So, am just hopeful my selection, Grandeur D'Ame, is in a good mood and will give of his best.

11/2 (Wm.Hill) best price at time of writing, on both the ATR and Oddschecker sites.

 

Juvenile at Kelso been very well supported in a poor race. If that doesnt then they definitely have a problem.

 

Should have at least mentioned that the gelding will be ridden by Tom Cannon for the Alan King yard! Also, wondered what Grandeur D'Ame meant in English. Apparently, it's "Greatness of Soul". Hmm, pretty fancy, that!

 

Really think Klitschko should take the last at Doncaster (16:50). Will be hot favourite but the useful gelding should see-off the others. Thomas Bellamy rides for the Alan King stable.

14.25 Newbury All Authorized looks a decent ew bet at 8/1. Not pushed too hard when close 4th at Sandown last time in a Class 3. Makes handicap debut in a Class 4. Probably a fair bit better than his odds indicate and likely to shorten

 

After all that blah-blah-blah was pulled-up. Doesn't deserve the fancy monicker.

 

14.40 Navan Aodhan May won so easily last looks worth risking at 4/1 despite another hike in the weights

 

Kelso 16.00 Course specialist Special Rate at 3/1 also looks decent value

 

Kempton 17.05 Superb Force 5/4 with WH and looks a sure winner following his run lto
