Thank you for your response. I think the election result last night in Rochdale is demonstrative of where the public stand on a lot of things and particularly with what is happening in Gaza. What is going on in Gaza is genocide and I feel that our mainstream politicians have been shambolic in reacting to Israel regarding this matter. I am struggling to understand what is happening in this country where we have had our political leaders who initially condone Israel's actions and only make some kind of statement that a ceasefire is necessary when 30,000 civilians have been killed. In 1939 we stood against this kind of tyranny . I am not a fan of George Galloway who is a sensationalist and opportunist but the election swing underscores for me that the ordinary man in the street does have some decency. It should not be necessary for someone like Galloway to be unique in making our foreign policy part of an English election campaign. It is embarrassing when I go to Qatar where people assume I support Israel because of the position taken by both the government and the opposition. Ido not know how I can explain last week's debacle in parliament when Gaza was discussed and only the SNP ended up coming out with any credibility. The efforts of a small country like Qatar to solve the crisis goes well beyond the endeavours made by the UK. To reply to your comment, if you step away from the pages of the Daily Mail or divert your attention from GB News and read my posts, I think you will find that it is the likes of Anderson, Tyce, Farage, etc who are out of step with how the majority of people feel. I cannot accept that these parties represent some sort of national consensus as most people find their views abhorent or cranky at best. I concur that Jewish view need to be heard but lets not forget we are a democracy and the voice from British muslims is one that comes from a much larger demographic. Their views have historically backed Labour with little real benefit or relevance to their lives. A number of Labour politicians have wisely pointed these things out and I feel that there is probably little else that could be considered more "British" than sticking up for the underdog. That is why I feel very angry about the way these protests have been policed and the fact that the govt is talking about making the democratic right to protest more difficult. In a nutshell, when these Right wing headbangers make statements about too many "non-white" people or suggest that the right to protest should be clamped down, they do not represent what the people of this country are like for the most part. The people protesting each weekend in London about Gaza are the ones who really understand "British values" whereas the politicians I have mentioned owe more to Oswald Mosely. We defeated Mosely in the past and we will fight and defeat his heirs in 2024. I am not part of an "Loony Left" but , if you know your history, we are a country whose progress through the centuries has been toward liberation and radicalism. The "drift" of national consensus has always been towards increasingly giving more people the franchise and ironing out injustices. That is what it means to be British. Letting another country slaughter women and children is not a British value and giving a voice to those on the Right such as Liz Truss who has given tacit support to Tommy Johnson is indicative to me as to why this must all stop. The views of the Right in this country are demonstrably wrong and clearly "un-British."
Breath of fresh air, it's not so grim up Norf. There's around 1/2 million settlers so few sanctioned for their crimes. We have Israeli friends actively campaigning against these illegal activities being physically threatened by the ultra right thugs. https://www.timesofisrael.com/2023-most-violent-year-for-west-bank-settler-attacks-watchdog-says/

Can you please reveal your sinister motives? Are Milton, Ides, Schrodinger, Chilcs & All_Saints in on your sinister motives? Is this a sinister, secret cabal? Time to come clean
Firstly I blame Guly, and then all the woke people that read the Sun, Mail, Express and form their opinion on biased right wing media nonsense that they digest. Then if in doubt blame the world’s problems on Muslims and immigration.
That's missing the lefty lawyers, striking barristers, enemy of the people judges, Gordon Brown, Jeremy Corbyn and Mick Lynch.
Another shooting on south London streets will get brushed under the carpet though, its fine. Happens once a week.
This it? https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-68453289 As a North American: a couple people wounded every week in gun violence is our dream scenario. Which isn't to say it's good, but it's a far better base to work from than a weekly spree massacre of 10+ people.
Why are you so obsessed with me? It’s a bit weird FWIW I disagree with George galloway’s politics massively. But if I lived in Rochdale I probably would have voted for him too - if only to watch him destroy the establishment politicians and their journalist stooges. He’s eloquent, he doesn’t lie or pander to the political elite and most importantly - he actually seems to care about the people in his electorate and Britain, rather than just using the country as a cash cow.
Whenever he had to choose an example of an extremist, he went with Palestinian peace marchers rather than some of the hate peddlers on his own benches……he is not fit to be PM.
It’s absurd. The Tories couldn’t be more out of touch. Do they really think that anyone in the country except their Zionist backers want more bloodshed, more money spent on bombs, more global instability? Conservatives are supposed to be the party that’s best for business.. how does wasting our tax money on globalist bombing campaigns help anyone? The government should be pursuing peace, not pouring petrol on the fire. They’re a disgrace. Only good thing is absolutely noone is buying their propaganda anymore. All they’re doing is alienating the left and the right.
With the budget approaching it was interesting to see that 2 recent polls showed that a decent majority of people were against tax cuts and for taxes either staying the same or increasing, if it meant that more public services would be protected and/or improved.
