I will be surprised if Downes makes the bench tbh seems to me there is more than meets the eye on this one.
For me the rest of the season is a write off now. Can't get autos, so just sit and wait for the playoffs to start. City 1-1 Saints, with a underwhelming performance, letting in a last min equaliser.
Has it? Or have we just looked tired and lethargic? I think the latter. When we play with energy and purpose we are extremely hard to play against.
I'd say that the biggest factor for the recent form has been the balance in midfield since Downes was injured, playing Smallbone at DM and not Charles and also Rothwell as replacement for Smallbone at 8 and not more forward means that we haven't been as fluent and dominant as before. I'd expect performances to get better when that balance is restored and of course fewer matches will mean better energy too. Form can change quickly, let's hope that it starts tomorrow.
I'm not stressing, play-offs as a minimum and still in with a shout of the top 2 is better than I expected at the start of the season. We were quite a long way worse than Leicester and Leeds last season.
Yeah I'm definitely not ruling out autos yet. Pretty unlikely from where we stand but we're more than capable of putting a run together and still plenty of football to be played. Would probably change my mind should we lose tomorrow though.
Too early to rule them out in my view. End of season madness creeps in and who knows what’ll happen then?
We can still do it, for sure. Need a huge turnaround in form starting tomorrow. If we keep winning every game like before, the pressure may get to someone around us.
Leeds will win every game from now til the end of the season so only chance we’ve got is if Leicester falter. Unlikely
The coaching staff at Birmingham have been watching the videos of our last four games and know that they can press our granddad football and win. I predict 4 0 to Brum.
Looking forward to going to this one. Never been to St Andrews before, although I do have a post-match curry lined up with a mate who is a Blues fan... so please don't lose.
