Good Morning. It's Friday 1st March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Summerville joins Chelsea's wish list Crysencio Summerville has been added to Mauricio Pochettino’s wish list following Chelsea's last gasp victory of the Whites in the FA Cup, earlier this week. Scouts for the South West London outfit have been tracking Summerville for a while, but are now upping their interest in the 22yo following similar scouting efforts from Liverpool (who are also believed to be targeting Archie Gray), and Aston Villa. Summerville has come alive this season since switching flanks. As an inverted winger / third striker, he is far more dangerous in attack, which has seen him notch up 15 goals, and 8 assists. According to 'Whoscored', Summerville is the best player in the Championship with a rating of 7.80. He is ahead of Jack Clarke (7.63), Rutter (7.53), Dewsbury Hall (7.51) and Abdul Fatawu (7.32). please log in to view this image Cawley recovering in hospital after fall The Leeds fan recovering in hospital after falling from the Upper tier of the away end has been named as no other than Aaron Cawley. If his name sounds familiar, it's because he received a four month prison sentence, and a six year football ground banning order back in 2012 after running onto the pitch, and attacking then Sheffield Wednesday keeper Chris Kirkland. Interestingly, he appealed against the banning order, and in 2016, his ban was lifted, but still remains barred from Leeds Utd games, so maybe should not have been in attendance in the first place. The 33yo was celebrating Mateo Joseph's opening 8th minutes goal on Wednesday evening, when he fell backwards onto empty seating below. What empty seating was doing at the away end when Leeds were in town, may always remain a mystery! please log in to view this image Jack Clarke linked with ER return Jack Clarke could make a sensational return to Elland Road this Summer according to a report from Leeds-Live. The former Thorp Arch academy player made the switch to Spurs nearly four years ago for a fee of £10m. Unfortunately for the then 19yo, he lost his way, and found himself surplus to requirements. In the Summer of 2022 he signed for recently promoted Sunderland for £800k, (having assisted them out of league One) and has not looked back since. He has terrorised defenses this season, contributing 15 goals and four assists to the Black Cats cause. please log in to view this image
With three games in the next 6 days it would be amazing to come away with 9 points but my gut feeling is there will be at least one slip up somewhere. All we can do though is take it one game at a time and see where it gets us. Town (a) Saturday Stoke (h) Tuesday Sheff Wed (a) Friday All bottom of the league clubs fighting for their lives so no easy games.
Good morning all I am just glad he fell on empty seats, can you imagine if their was someone sat their, a child even, doesn't bear thinking about.
Would 10 be a joint record? ("Modern day"/"current format") We ended Villa's and drew at Reading immediately before theirs
Afternoon all, With the moving of the two Easter fixtures we will be on a run of 10 televised matches in a row. Surely this must a record at any level in English football? (we're not famous anymore) As for that cnut Cawley. I hope his injuries keep him away from matches for a while, don't want the likes of him near the club.
Season ticket renewals open- Updated terms and conditions on General Admission Season Ticket non-attendance Despite the overwhelming demand for tickets, Season Ticket holders not attending matches at Elland Road is still a problem as it detracts from our legendary atmosphere that is vital to the teams’ performance. As a result, a new ‘usage’ condition will be implemented within our Season Ticket terms and conditions. Season Ticket Holders must attend 80% of the home league games at Elland Road or they will not be invited to renew for the following season. Attendance shall be deemed to include: 1) Personal attendance at a match by a Season Ticket Holder using their Season Ticket 2) Attendance at a match by a friend or family member of the Season Ticket Holder, using the official ‘Ticket Forwarding Scheme’ 3) A Season Ticket Holder puts their seat up for resale via the official ‘Ticket Exchange’ scheme The introduction of this attendance condition has proved successful at other Club’s ensuring as many supporters as possible get to see the team whilst encouraging fans to monetise matches they cannot attend making season tickets more affordable.
They don't actually tell you how much it's going to cost. Not until you get the 'pay' button up, to conclude the transaction. Seems we've had an increase, but they're introducing some sort of 'levelling up', so that we're all paying the same, it seems. I personally disagree with this. It's the principle, not the cost. I EARNED those deductions, but paying (very) early etc. I should be getting a discount for having a season ticket for nearly 30 years, not an increase.
big lump physical teams of the type we tend to slip up against (already have against 2 of them) … fighting for survival as you say… 2 away derbies. Banana skins aplenty methinks
Think they’re all banana skins at this time of the season. However I think(and most definitely hope) that they’ll react pretty positively to any set back they might encounter. To me, it seems DF will treat all the results in a similar manner. Accepting that these set backs happen, and it’s the response he gets from them in the next fixture, that is important. Next game matters.
