Big apple can you try and bite your tongue in the response to Dai, I know had too you are just coming down to his level - thanks !
I was imagining an orifice in the sand, Jager, like an ostrich. I have no idea what crudities you're suggesting...... ...and to get back on point, Borini would be well worth the wonga, in my opinion, but I just don't see Brenden strengthening the CF position in January. DG's doing excellently, and Lita did superbly when needed to cover DG. Midfield, CB, and RB would seem more likely areas to be reinforced.
Yeah Borini may be worth the money, but we are not just dealing with one club, but two with Roma paying money for a season long loan, think its to complex to bring him here, and as you rightly say is there a need right now ?
we got them players when we were in the lower leagues. ermmmmm we are premiership now so you think these clubs will have better players than what we have got already......tell me brendan have just announced that he wants a minimum of 4-6 quality players in January.... Now what would you say that would cost us???? don't forget you still have to pay a hefty fee for a loan player.....will it be more than £2 million or a hell of a lot more....?
you make me larf jager ....one minute you would not expect the board to give £1.5-£2 million for 4 players and the next minute your on about £6 million for borini.. brilliant...
I was making the point, Dai, that the right lower league players are more than capable of playing in the premier league, it's just a question of unearthing them. Should that be our only transfer policy? No, of course not. The right players will be sourced and discussed by HJ and BR, be they free, £1mill, or £10mill, but to outwardly scoff at the idea of continuing to do what we have done successfully in the transfer market for the past 5 or 6 years is shortsighted, and is indicative of what is wrong with the majority of premier league clubs at the moment. Surely we agree that we do not want to become them?
Yes discussing what Parma are after for him which is €7m plus , sorry if its a bit complex for you , but I am not asking the club to pay that in January, the point is we don't need a player in that position IMO so it's a moot speculation anyway
if brendan dont get a minimum of £10 mill then he may move on if he feels we could do a lot better, and if we do go down then he will definitely walk, he will get plenty of offers home and abroad dont worry about that. even at £10 million for 6 players good enough is somewhat dodgy. £15 mill is about right as at least he can do a little bit with that maybe not 6 players but maybe 4 at a push......give him the money now Morgan and let buck put pen to paper like he wants to or we could lose yet another good manager.....
Almost made it to the end of this thread (which i was quite enjoying) until once again Dai brought it down to the dumps. How hard isit really to go 1 thread just having healthy debates and not flinging around insults. Truly infuriating.
Hell Dai what you on tonight mate! Anyway Ivor, it looks to me, that Borini's got himself, or rather Parma have, into another Chelsea situation, don't think the kid will be happy with coming off the bench, he's not featured in many games this season, and it's not all down to his light injury, so it will be interesting to see if he signs for Roma, can't see him being loyal to Parma after this, hope Brendan keeps in touch with him over the phone, and I don't agree with Jager about our CF position being a moot point, as it's far from that, we do once again have an issue up front, which I'm sure Rodgers can see, so I think the Striker position will need to be focused on, otherwise we could well come up short points wise!.................. please log in to view this image
What's our issue up front, Phil? From my perspective, DG's got 4 in 4 and has only failed to score in our last two games against 2 of the top 6 teams in the league, and Lita, when he got the chance, scored one and set up one. I do feel that Borini may offer more to our game than perhaps either of them, but, for the money, I think strengthening elsewhere is required first. I'm a massive Rangel fan (going to get 22 on my shirt this season. Sad, I know....) but, and this is regardless of his mistake against Utd, I feel that he has been our weakest link in defence this season. His positioning has been excellent as he's an intelligent player but his lack of pace has been exposed countless times. Downing tore him apart at Anfield, and Wolves also benefited from attacking his flank. I'd prefer to see some serious competition for his spot before a new striker is acquired.
I don't think we have a problem up front at the moment, if we get another striker in it will be to replace graham up front, which I can't see, the only reason as far as I can see to go for another striker is if we have an injury, and we can't really account for that until it happens.
apple I'm not knocking Graham, though the stats are in his favour at the moment, but his performance's are not strong enough for me, his battling skills in the box are light, and CB's don't have too much difficulty putting him off his stride, he needs to get sharper on his off the ball game, it might well be that he's still adjusting, and nothing wrong with that, but you can't argue that we are not light up front, and lacking some cutting edge, and if Graham were injured, he's the only half decent striker we have, as for Rangel, he's not settled well, but I do see him coming good, he's the most nervous of our boys adjusting to things here, but he'll do it in my view!................ please log in to view this image PS: By the way lads, Borini will not go back to Parma, they have really peed him off!!.............. please log in to view this image
ffs Jager, a goal a game aint getting us nowhere, why BR does not play 2 up front against the weaker teams is beyond me, but no pass, pass, pass oops missed, the team has to attack more and buy a few players who can do that, sometimes watching a funeral is better than the pass, pass, pass oops i missed it
Just got back from my local musty, plenty of afters tonight, and pleasant company!! anyway I'm chuckling away at your comment!............. please log in to view this image
Take it from me it's good, we'll just wait for the Jailer to come, sorry I mean the Jager to come!...............
I know, but he's an honest man, who is on a learning curve, this is his first premiership team, and one that plays the way he believes in, so he's going to experiment and tinker with a tad, and sometimes he gets it wrong, but I'm so happy with his management, and that is coming from the author, of 'Brenda the tea lady', you know how much I was disappointed with Rodgers coming here, if you remember, I wanted Gianfranco Zola!!...................... please log in to view this image
