I think we and Russ have learnt a fair bit from that game. I'm just gutted about KWP (as if losing Wee Man wasn't enough yesterday!). Hope it's not a lengthy one. Certainly the difference in quality showed in the end. Liverpool changed up a few gears around the 60th minute and you could just sense what was coming. I know we moan about end product but at least Sulemana and Edozie were causing them problems. We never looked the same after taking them off and our subs were poor. Smallbone a liability when he came on. Charles has to start at the weekend. No excuses. He had a very good game.
It helps when all your senior players are crocked so you have no choice of course. But yeah, no reason not to bring on Dibling and SAA in that second half.

That is harsh and inaccurate. We were outstanding for the first 35 minutes. We played exceptional football from the back to create numerous great chances
Agreed, we were fantastic for the first hour ghat I watched. Smallbone coming on and gifting rhem a goal just killed the game.
If ever there was a "Saintsy" performance that was it. Kept to the script perfectly. Start really well, loads of chances, including hitting the post, but zero converted. Then a massive deflection and 1 - 0 down against the run of play. Enter Smallbone , 2 - 0. Then a good save from Lumley but the rebound put in. We then run out of steam....the end!
Said previously; makes perfect sense now why RM was giving the big Smallbone love-in recently. I think that’s been well & truly blown.
Can;t expect to miss all those great chances and come away with anything. Thought Charles and Mara were awful tonight.
