I'd probably say the same - fabulous player. As the article says, scoring his last goal for City to relegate United would have amused him immensely.
Didn’t read that article. Just remember it. The fact he scored that instinctive goal showed how good he was as he was upset about scoring as he thought he had relegated United but he hadn’t. The other results that day meant they were down anyway. They had one more game left and even if they won that would have been relegated.
The Chippy I used to use in Aberdeen had a letter on the wall from Dennis Law saying it was the best fish and chips in Aberdeen. Always went there whenever he was in town.
subbed off in the 77th minute to protect duane darby's feat as the last player to score 6 in an fa cup match. probably.
I asked the other day if anyone could guess the most watched club game on TV. The highest viewing figures were for England in 1966 and the Euros Final in 2020 but the highest for a club game was the replay between Chelsea and Leeds, 28 million. Which. I must admit, surprised me.Thought it might have been Man Utd in European Cup Final in 1968 or something similar.
Ironically think it was the first replay for decades( could be wrong). Might have caught the publics imagination.
First ever replay after a Wembley Final. The last one before was when Barnsley beat West Brom in 1912 in pre Wembley days.
Could have gone to that. My uncle was friends with Cussins, Silver, Revie and used to go golfing with them and former chairman Frank Reynolds who was responsible for setting them on their period of success. He was booked on the Pullman and a weekend in the Hilton. He had a heart attack and couldn’t go and offered me the tickets. I said I didn’t want to go to Wembley to watch two teams I didn’t support and would wait for City.He was managing director of a large place employing 500 people and left a message with the union rep to put everyone’s name in a bag and pick out a winner. My dad said if Hull City ever get to a Cup Final I will pay for what my brother was doing for you. He did admit he was bricking it when we were 2-0 up against Stoke. Didn’t hang on for City as I had said. Went down to Brid Town there, something as a 9 year old who saw their first game I never expected to see even in my wildest dreams.
Re the Chelsea Leeds game tonight... this morning on TS, Clattenberg re-watched the game 28 million watched and when asked how many would be on the pitch at the end he said...NONE!!!
Whenever there's such a game where I can't stand either side, I always hope for match abandoned with the whole lot sent off. My wish would have come true
Just realised all last nights and tonight's games are FA cup games, didn't they used to be on a weekend all the way through the rounds?
why? Whats happening? I got offered a corporate freebie for tonight….i couldn’t say **** offf quick enough…I struggle to think of 2 teams that I hate more
Chelsea playing it around at the back but Leeds have a quick and effective press. Chelsea gave a goal away when they should have been clearing the ball.
Won’t be many there, working night, kiddies have to be at school tomorrow, too far for fans to travel midweek…
Hull City's huge Easter Monday clash with Leeds United moved - Hull Live (hulldailymail.co.uk) sure this has been mentioned somewhere but can't see it - TWS now 8pm kick off on Easter Monday
