His speed of thought is too slow to play in midfield for me. Whenever he is on the ball you can almost see the cogs turning and him analysing every option, won’t get that time at DM
I can’t honestly see why we couldn’t win against ‘Pool, it would go a long way to forgetting some of the recent results and would hopefully be a massive morale boost for the upcoming games. The biggest though is Liverpool literally can not be weaker. The amount of injuries they’ve had, the fact they’ve played 120 minutes just two days ago, the fact that next weekend they play City. You couldn’t ask for a better time to play them so I really hope we give it a go. If we go there, play the same low energy way we’ve been playing the last few games and end up with Bazunu with the most touches I will be disappointed tbh. Liverpool’s weakest team will always be good but this is a massive opportunity. If we go there and Liverpool run us off the park considering their predicament I will have big questions.
I'm pleased to say that my second son is taking our two grandsons who have all the kit for such an occasion!! I'm pleased that the prices have been generous enough for all three to make the trip. They'll enjoy the experience of Anfield especially when we come off the pitch worthy winners and Klopp speechless!
I`m going to be at the Aberdeen v St Johnstone game. So hopefully I`ll see Saints get beaten while Saints are winning. Or something. COYS!
They may have lots of injuries, and this game may not be a priority for them but they'll still want to get through. And they can still call apon VVD, Konate, Robertson, Mac Allister, Salah, Nunez, Szoboszlai, Gakpo, Diaz, Elliot, Endo, Tsimikas, Gomez, Kelleher and some high level young players too. Some played a lot of minutes on Sunday. Some are just returning from injury or picked up a knock on Sunday but it's not like they can only field a team of kids against us. No doubt as good a time to play them as is possible to get though.
Endo isn't fit, and I'd be surprised (and a little gutted) if Salah, Nunez and Szoboszlai were fit/risked.
I've read that Endo is a doubt with a knock. Maybe he won't be risked but when a player is a doubt with a knock I always take that to mean they could feature in some capacity. I know Salah, Nunez and Szoboszlai have been out injured, but have been training and all being assesed to see if they can be involved tonight. Maybe they won't be ready, or won't be risked in a lower priority game, but could also be a useful game as a chance to give them 20/30 mins from the bench.
Can only see one result here, think Liverpool will have a field day with our passing out from the back. Interesting to see how they line up, would imagine all the big hitters will be on the bench at least to come on if they are losing/drawing
My line up choice ——————-Lumley——————— -KWP—Bednarek—THB—Manning— -—Aribo—-—Charles—-Smallbone—- —A Armstrong—Adams—Edozie——- Basically go 90% strong but let Lumley stay on as cup keeper. I feel like Stu needs rotating to stay fit, Rothwell is Rothwell, Mara better off from the bench, Dibling to come on at some point. I think the line up might be quite different to this though.
Can’t choose between Edozie and Sulemana if I’m honest, but Sulemana usually has more of an impact from the bench. Unless it’s against Liverpool, so maybe I see your point.
Oh in that case I suspect ————————-Lumley———————- -Stephens—Bednarek—THB—Meghoma— ———Aribo——-Charles—Rothwell———- —Dibling————-Adams———Sulemana-
