Surprised by the negativity on here today. We finally get out of the bottom 3 having been there since September. We've won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 in February, we're about 6th in the form table. Chris Willock is born again. Plenty of reasons for cheer.
Absolutely. Willock has been dog **** for most of the season and was justifiably criticised for playing poorly, but more so for not seeming to give a ****. He's been good in the last couple of games and was MOM today. Maybe he started to try a bit more once the transfer window closed.
What a fantastic result, LR was rocking and am so glad that the team held it together to get the vital three points. Good performances from Chair, Dunne & Willock. Only negative was that we still can't beat the first man from crosses and corners.
Couple of thoughts... Smyth was the game changer tonight. He got us back into the game and he also should have had a penalty. For some reason, Willock has gotten the attention tonight. He's had a good two games recently. But for the amount of time Smyth has been on the pitch, he's done a lot for us. His goal per minutes ratio must be good, as well as assists. We started this match worse than any other match this season. We were woeful. We didn't have any answers in the first half. The team came together second half. We should have a 6 man defence for the first 20 mins of every match! We are so wide open ever game in that period.
Maybe it's just his languid style. Taarabt was constantly accused of the same things when I was at games, by many fans around me. Maybe he's been affected by his injuries. Whatever it is, let's hope he carries on in good form.
That was imo one of the best rangers performances ive seen in a while. Yes the early goal we conceded after hoofing the ball about was a bad start! But i thought alot of our passing and movement was excellent and very good to watch.
Clucas seemed to have the midfield to himself first half. Credit to Cifuentes for binning Hodge and Hayden as both looked well off it. I’m a critic of Willock but even in the first half he was one of the few who looked like doing something positive and was making the effort to get back when needed. For a bloke with no pace he gets beyond the full-back and puts it in the box plenty. The crossing and set pieces in general were a lot better. I think Rotherham ran out of gas after pressing so well first half. They tried to bring on Cafu to control the game a bit but the game passed him by. Their lack of depth killed them as much as anything.
QPR win … And climb out of the relegation zone. And put Stoke there. If Stan hadn’t passed, it would’ve been the perfect weekend. That was for you Stan, we won for you.
Only negative for me was Millwall and Huddersfield both winning against much better opposition than Rotherham. Never saw that coming! We must focus on winning our games rather than relying on others to lose. Simples (not)!
That was definitely unfortunate but like you say just got to focus on us. There's a few teams in this fight now and we're all going to drop points and pick up unexpected points, not great for the nerves. Given who we've got next up if we're still outside the bottom 3 this time next week that could be huge.
You have to look all the way up to 8th to find a team with equal or better form than us. Sheffield Wednesday trying to sneak their way out of the bottom three as well, three wins in five but 2 losses.
Next weekend they play Rotherham, it's quite conceivable they can be on the same points as us afterwards Our Goal Difference is the bonus point at the moment, Wednesday's is way worse
It’s not ideal but in a way not the worst thing given it puts more pressure on the others. ****ty results yesterday but we’re the team the others are looking over their shoulders at now.
