I'm talking about a possible formation that MUST include Burn, as that's Howe's modus operandi. Burn as a left back is amongst the stupidest things currently on display in the PL.

I am more concerned about in game management. When it’s clear Burn is getting targeted and destroyed. You make the changes.

In the last two home games Howe didn’t make them changes till it was too late.

Howe is useless but he's done a decent job building the foundations for the next phase.

Ultimately he was never going to be the manager to fight for major honours.. he's a safe pair of hands for the ****test part of the build.

He'll then be thrown away like used bog roll when the right manager is keen and funds are available for him....awful I know , but these are the facts.

Okay LD, what would you like to see happen at NUFC in the close season. Put it all out there so we can see what you're thinking and then we can see if we all agree or not

He would like a Steve Bruce return with McTominay being the star signing

Probably linked to final league position or something like that then. By the way, read Howe's comment a bit further and he burns poor Hall pretty badly... Basically said in reply to being asked about Hall's transfer, that they work hard on making the right transfers but some mistakes will happen. That it will affect ffp negatively. Then quickly tried to row back and said not specifically talking about Hall...

I mean it’s fairly ****ing obvious that Hall was a massive mistake. Hopefully an Ashworth one, and I suspect it was. Howe has to play it cool but I’d hate to see £30m disappear for a player deemed worse than Burn and less reliable than Miley (not diminishing Miley, but he’s two years younger and was still preferred).

The positive angle is it hasn’t cost us anything against FFP, only really cost has been in not having a PL level left back this season. Which in itself is probably not the difference between top 4 and where we are.

This is purely down to negotiations and Hall will be part of the future. If not its simply because Howe wanted Burn , doesn't want to drop him and wants money to buy another one of his picks.. maybe Phillips or Billing.

Chelsea and Newcastle didn't just make a mistake when identifying that he can play football.

To be fair he was covering for a fair few injuries Chelsea had at the time and did look decent, though I hasten to add Chelsea overall were still crap. He tended to play LWB as well, which is more his thing.

I think our signings this Summer will be a lot higher calibre than those.

Do we all not remember him playing vs Man United and we won 3-0 and he scored a volley from 20 yards ....unfortunately playing Livramento right back and Hall left back doesn't suit Howes pals.

Furthermore when Howe is challenged on Burn he blamed the fwd areas ... I don't recall Hall getting that mental gymnastic when he had a bad game.

PIF paid £305million and have spent £290million on players. The value of the club is now £674million according to Forbes. The club has gone from bottom to 7th and had a first season in the Champions League for 20years.

I suspect the owners will be frustrated that they can’t plough more money in due to FFP but will be over the moon how their investment is working out. As the world’s biggest sovereign wealth fund they don’t need to see cash generation but just want to see asset growth, which is what they are getting.
