Please forgive me ... For I cannot find the right words to leave a tribute to this Rangers legend who is about to leave this world. He meant so much to me and this QPR journey ( and so many of us ) ... God bless you Stan Bowles and thanks for the magical memories ... ( Please leave your tributes below ... )
Doesn't sound good. The word legend gets bandied about a lot these days, but Stan truly was a Legend in the eyes of anyone who sqw him play. I started going to QPR in 75/76 (lucky me) when I was about 6 years old. Didn't really understand what was going on, but was mesmerised by the skills Stan displayed and always wanted to be him when I played football with my mates. His decline in health over the last few years has been heartbreaking, and it'll be an emotional day at HQ when he finally passes. Thank you for the memories Mr Bowles, you'll never be forgotten.
I suppose we all knew this was coming, but it's still ****ing gut wrenching. My favourite QPR player of all time. Imagine what he would have done and been worth playing on today's pitches when he couldn't be sythed down every 5 minutes. It's going to be incredibly emotional at HQ tomorrow. Wish I was going.
Oh no that bloody cruel disease, it’s such a shame & feel for his family but what a player & legend & will be sadly missed by all, had the pleasure of seeing him play & a maverick with the ball
A genius ,maverick , sheer class entertainer, who was THE reason i became a Rangers Supporter at the tender age of 7 years old , when that great team of 1975-76 played some of the best Football of its time - i suppose he was our George Best in the best ways
Terrible if true but inevitable unfortunately. Our greatest ever without a doubt, a true genius. Gonna be a sad sad day whenever it happens. Another **** disease
I know it’s inevitable but this is gut wrenching. Certainly my footballing hero of a fantastic era in my football supporting and sporting lifetime.
Rodney brought me to Rangers. Stan made me stay forever. He is the greatest player I ever saw...and the most charismatic
Both of my kids were called Stan, until the Mrs decided on calling them something else after she squeezed them out!
