Sorry, too busy counting the birds in a murmuration and remembering the ones at the gym - oops can I say that LOL
Seems to me he spared his own blushes since he gave Seri a hostpital pass. Other than that he had a very good game commanded his box and distributed the ball well-both long and short.
There's also this thing where his mistakes get exaggerated. He spilled one at Swansea that was bad, but there's been a few goals where you could argue he maybe should've saved it and didn't, but people reacted as if they were absolute howlers. And then stuff like the Watford lob. No one would blame the keeper for that if it wasn't one who's already under scrutiny. Ultimately, I think he's treated more harshly because he came in and replaced another good keeper who was playing pretty well, he wasn't an exciting signing on paper, and he has this reputation of being brought in as LR's man which became another stick to beat him with. Then there's the fact he's very good with his feet which can almost be used against him by making it into a "that's all he's good for" thing.
I've been critical of him to be fair. I think he has let some soft ones in combo with some mistakes and was firmly on the train of thought that if it continued Pandur would be starting very soon. To his credit he has improved so I can't knock him really
You omitted to mention that he is always out of position. Standing over by the corner flag or something.
Looked as if Seri got upended to me. Ref was Jonathan on the spot. Might have given us a FC if it had hit the back of the net.
Don't understand the negative attitude towards Allsop, I think he's more than ok and has saved us numerous times - maybe if the rest of the team didn't lose the ball / pass to the opposition / fail to cut out crosses / fail to block shots then maybe Allsop wouldn't need to make so many saves
He's great with his feet and has definitely improved the last few weeks, but he's still questionable to poor on his positioning and shot stopping. He's working on those though in the background though just as Ingram is with his feet, which will benefit both us and them moving forward
Well yeah you’d assume passing to Seri in them tight dangerous spots requires a bit more concentration then a lax pass that places unnecessary pressure on the midfielder. I understand the concept and have no issue with the style just saying the ball on that occasion put him into trouble, not incoherently babbling…
Does it matter if there was a subsequent foul? Their player was hot on Seri's heals before the pass was made.
Unless Pandur turns out to be poor, which seems highly unlikely, we're not going to see Ingram play for us again.
This from the saints's forum: "Not sure I’d want Hull in the playoffs, did what we do just better for the most of it" It makes a polar shift from the usual ****e we have to listen to after beating a side. "feeling embarrassed being beaten by a side like Hull" and the like.
They seem a very knowledgeable and creditworthy bunch of posters who appreciate and understand Football. Some other forums have an array of up their own backside, bad losers and keyboard warriors who can't bear the thought of losing a game of Football...
Allsop must be a fast learner. His positioning was described by someone as shocking ten days ago. Now it is only questionable to poor.
