A big up for bringing murmurations into a description of 45 minutes footballers. Surely a first, not even one by major sportswriters.
I think he probably is on a decent wage, and he's the kind of player who a foreign team somewhere will probably offer another contract on a similar wage, while I expect we probably wouldn't. He's talented and has looked promising at times, but it's not really worked out on the whole and right now I think it's unlikely he'll be here next season.
Don’t understand the recent criticism of Allsop. I agree prior to January he was generally really poor and has cost us points. But since bringing in Pandur it seems to have lit a fire underneath him as he’s been steadily improving his performances and has made some pretty good saves to boot. With the style of play he will get more of the ball and that does open the door for a mistake but that one yesterday was his first clanger since QPR. Poor decision by him and he probably knows it now.
It was a great result, and the first half was probably the best I've seen City play under LR however the exciting thing is that there was still room for massive improvement. Had Jaden and Zaroury had their shooting boots on, we could have been out-of-sight by half-time, and made it embarrassing for the Southampton supporters. Given it was his first time in the starting line up, Omur was exceptional and looks so comfortable in possession.
Interesting - I think if we wanted energy, Doc gives more than anyone else in the team! And personally felt in the situation we were in last night, Traore was less likely to do a job for the team. But hey, we move on!
If Allsop was as good with his goalkeeping as he was with his distribution, then he would probably already be at a Premier League club. I just never feel as comfortable with Allsop (or Imgram) when we are defending a lead as I did when Darlow was between the sticks.
Thought Jacob gave an assured performance when he came on. Nice cynical foul on Adams in their half to stop a break, good head out from a cross and generally good defensive work. Considering the game and pressure when he was on it was good to see I thought
Christie and Ohio both travelled with the squad apparently. Sharp wasn't preferred by much seeing as he remained unused, but it being one of his former clubs probably threw it.
Ditto. He struggled a bit last time being played out of position, but generally he's been excellent when called upon. That's important as moving Giles to wide left when protecting a lead is a good option to have.
I like Jacob , tidy got a good pass and I think underneath hard as nails - not afraid of a tackle clean or cynical - a bit more muscle and he’ll be very decent and have a good career
You could say similar for a lot of players in this league. I’m not denying he’s an average keeper and as of late he’s playing better than he has in the first half of the season but I think people have blinkers on and as a result refuse to give him credit for his part in this good run of form
