Stats say they had more possession, more corners and more or less the same amount of shots. The game I saw was us battering them for 45 minutes and should have gone at half time in at least four up. The second half was Southampton aimlessly huffing and puffing, scoring a late consolation that flattered them. What did you see?
Well that was pretty good. To be understated. Another performance showing off how much... progress we're making.
Creative in terms of creating chances for us? Yeah his header straight to Zaroury and then clearance in the second half that went straight to him were pearlers.
Well yeah, but it's usually on the match day thread too to be fair. Even when we win. Lot of silent voices tonight. Can't imagine they are all pissed up in Southampton.
Stats showed in the first half 11 shots to 3, 4 on target to 1, pretty much even possession. Stats in the second half when we sat in and tried to contain them was much more in Southampton's favour. Looking at stats for the full match rather than by half is where you'll run into trouble.
You tell me what you think they suggest. They're a fair enough reflection of the game, though I think we were a bit lucky not to pick up more yellows.
We absolutely battered them for 45 minutes and even the most avid Saints fan would agree that 2-0 flattered them. Second half was more even but I'd suggest that, while they had more possession, we still had the better chances. The stats suggest that over the 90 minutes it was a fairly even affair. That's not the game I saw.
It was even over 90 minutes. The stats reflect that we battered them for 45 minutes, which we did. Not even sure what you're going on about tbh.
