The stabbings are part of escalating knife culture and post code violence. The tragic double murder in South Bristol came as no surprise.

    I’m 57 now.
When I was growing up in Dundry in the 70s we all carried knives. We had penknives - and I actually had a sheath knife. A big bladed dagger which I wore on my belt.
We used it to whittle sticks and throw at trees try to get them to stick in.
Maybe it’s a ‘country’ thing as opposed to town.
It never occurred to us to use them as weapons.

62, we did similar, I had several, sheath knife and a Bowie knife, used them in the scouts and for splits, used to enjoy cleaning them, like you I wouldn’t have dreamed of using them as a weapon.

I live in Sea mills and this is so sad, truly heartbreaking.

I don’t want to turn it all political but I blame the government for everything that’s happened recently.

Can’t get a GP appointment, zero community support, zero mental health support, unable to see a GP, GP can’t raise safeguarding concerns, everybody suffers.

The police apparently even visited recently before this incident so it could very easily have been prevented.

The latest is a rape in Castle Park
    My take is
Too many people in the country and not enough resources for anything to go round

No respect for law and order or human life

Inadequate and often biased punishment for all but the most serious of crimes being handed out by the judicial system

Knife and gang culture with intent to harm or kill people has exploded and is no longer limited to just London

Lack of common courtesy and politeness these days between people

Bodies like the Police and Social Care workers walking on egg shells for fear of being called racist when dealing with serious developing events and not doing what’s right for fear of losing their jobs

To many people live in this country.
Nobody, unless fiscally ok, can see a dentist and the rest can't see a doctor quickly.
When I was a boy doctors actually came to your house but if 740,000 settle here annually what you expect.
Tom, you live in Sea Mills, the folk being interviewed. Are they the majority ?

Everything? The stabbings, plural because there have been multiple gangs fights in South Bristol between post codes using knives over recent years are not an everything that can be pinned solely on government.

A woman is being supported by specially trained police officers after she was raped in Bristol City Centre in the early hours of this morning, Monday, February 19.

Officers were called just before 3am to a report that a man had raped a woman in Castle Park, and now police have launched a manhunt to find him. Police said the wanted man is white, around 5ft 9ins tall with short brown hair. He was wearing all black clothing.

A police cordon was set up in Castle Park, in the area around The Vaults Cafe near the castle ruins, and police said CCTV from the area was being reviewed, as the hunt for the rapist steps up.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police appealed for anyone with information to call 101 and quote reference number 5224043502. “We were called shortly after 2.48am to a report that a man had raped a woman in Castle Park,” the spokesperson confirmed.

“The offender is described as white, approximately 5ft 9ins tall with short brown hair. He was wearing all black clothing. Officers attended at the time and spoke to the victim and she is now being supported by specially trained officers from Bluestone, our specialist rape and sexual offences investigations team.

“Officers remain at the scene, where a cordon is in place to allow a thorough examination to take place, and CCTV footage is being reviewed. If you saw anything in the area at the time or have any other footage or information which could help our enquiries, please call 101 and quote reference,” he added.

If Tom doesn't I do and for the way he's bleeding ordinary working people dry with this Ulez scam plus the knife crime and various protests every day that only now the Police are acting on against people with hate placards, and who refuse to show their face whilst waving another nations flags.

It's a snapshot of the whole UK at the moment with what's going on, and has been allowed to go on in London and Bristol under Labour controlled councils

And then there’s Birmingham, another Labour council who are £2.1 billion in debt and who are going to put up their Council Tax by 21% over the next two years to pay for it !
And that is all you need to know

People who want equality are often the ones that already have it and even better these days than the 84% majority of the population who get nowt
    A grand reset is needed

my wife went into town today with a friend... sat on a seat near Sainsbury's was witness to a a fracas that lasted 40 mins ... and involved 10 police .. pepper sprays ... assault on a security guard and theft and intimidation ... prior to police presence! Police took over 10 mins to get him less able to resist after the spray, to the police van!
a homeless person [ of African descent? ] stole from sainsburys and when challenged assaulted the security guard not once but went away and came back 3 or 4 times!!
They decided to go round the corner to the smaller Greggs shop for coffee and an asian homeless walked in took a sandwich and drink and walked out, Greggs girl at the door was petrified!
She said to me when home " just what the hell is happening to Bristol "... they pee and poo in the street .. threaten people or intimidate them, and security guards ... no respect for the police ....

I made a similar comment a few months ago when I caught a bus from Whitchurch into town (the Horsefair) before catching another bus on to Ashton
I don’t go into the central area very often as I have no need to, but the place is really run down and the people there of all creeds are virtually unrecognisable from a few years ago
Shoplifting in this country has become an epidemic and often goes unchallenged but it costs shops, particularly supermarkets, tens of millions of pounds a year and those costs are passed on to law abiding consumers ! How is that fair ?
Yet again there is no deterrent, and offenders know they will get away with it and won’t be apprehended let alone prosecuted or face any punishment.
These supermarkets need to employ guards with the power to arrest criminals and have the tools for the job to hand.
It will cost the likes of Co Op, Sainsburys, Asda, and Tesco a lot less than the goods that are walking out of their stores every day.
