100%. I think the biggest factor must have been the squad's unhappiness with him. Snubbing Hume, chucking Aouchiche under the bus, dropping Rusyn for no reason - that's probably the tip of the iceberg
yes, the biggest thing about making decisions is admitting when you were wrong, massive massive moment now on who the full time gaffer will be they have about 3 months now to get the right one,
I agree in a sense mate. But this should never have been allowed to happen. I suppose it’s fair play for swallowing their pride, but we all knew how this would end up. It wasn’t difficult to envisage.
Would of thought we would look at Steve Cooper. Led 2 championship clubs to the playoffs, one promotion, kept Forest in the PL. Also use to work with England at u16 and u17 so has experience working with younger players. Obviously sounds like Dodds has got it so a bit irrelevant at this point, maybe Cooper is holding out for a prem job.
Fair play mate. But they’ve have put an awful lot of pressure on this next decision. Has to be somebody who instantly gets everyone on board.
Yeah it's a bit of a myth that changing coaches often is bad. Only 3 coaches in the championship have been at their club for more than 2 years, Robins, Lowe and McKenna.
Nowt official from the club, think we need 4 more wins to avoid relegation, soon as that's secured its a free hit for the rest of the season blooding the youngsters. That is if any of this is true.
Would have been on a wedge at Forest (and still will be as they'll pay him to the end of his contract) so doubt he'd come here
@FrazFletcher Sunderland players lost confidence in the methods used by Michael Beale during his 12 game tenure and some had a difficult relationship with the coach, according to sources #SAFC @TEAMtalk
I know all that mate, we all do, I just hope it's not going to be a millstone we carry around with us. Loads of clubs have done what we've done. I remember Ranieri, who was well respected, being given the Fulham job. He only lasted a few months and the Fulham fans, who aren't radgies, we're chanting for his removal. If people are just going to carry on demanding the sack for Speakman, Dodds, KLD, etc, we may as well all pack up.
I wish him well, he must be a good coach as his CV tells us that, maybe head coach / manager is the wrong path for him, I would like to see him succeed in his next job and hope he does well. I never wanted him but its in the past now.
I get that mate. I’ve never been one to call for speakman et al’s heads. I’ve asked questions, but there’s absolutely no doubt that they have done wonders for us if you compare where we are now to the state we were at when they came in. In my eyes, this appointment put a heap of unnecessary pressure on them. At least you could see the rationale behind ranieri to Fulham. Beale to us made no sense. Very important decisions to be made now.
I think Dodds is the perfect choice till the end of the season imo, he's shown he is tactically adaptable when switching formations against leeds, the players love him and will play for him. I'd love to see us go for Klopp's assistant in the summer as he wants to be a head coach after liverpool.
