Could look at it as a free hit, came in with a tough run last time and managed okay, see if he can do it again

Agree. Massive for all of us. We just can't take this instability any more. We need a club with a defined ownership,in it for the longer term,well-heeled enough to withstand the demands of the business they've bought into, together with an on and off field management and coaching structure which is qualified, permanent and properly funded to achieve the longer term objectives we all desire.
History tells us anything else doesn't work and will fail.

Beale was on a hiding to nothing from the start, was never given a chance and the carry on with the mags game made him more of a target as the frustration with the club grew and results/performances weren't good.

Honestly don't think dodds is an improvement and will be disappointed if he gets it full time in the summer. Hopefully he is just a stop gap, a la sbragia, and it gives us time to get the right man in in the summer

People were screaming for Beale to be sacked, paused after Plymouth, and started again after Huddersfield.

Some claimed Speakman was too gutless to sack him.

They claimed KLD wouldn't pay him off.

It seems some people were wrong, about one thing or another, but I doubt anyone will say so.

I suspect they'll just go further back in time and start the blame game again ...

... shouldn't have pushed Neil out, sacked Mowbray, etc.

None of that helps, it's all been said hundreds of times before.

Embarrassing, hopefully lessons learned. I still think he did well with Liverpool and Rangers as a coach but his days as head coach look pretty much over.

He was awful in front of a camera but a sudden sacking like that suggests problems behind the scenes.

Keep calm and carry on with Doddsy

And Beale has always had said attitude and it was spoken about at length before his appointment and that it would be an issue

Not the first to do it and won’t be the last. Pep and Mourinho have both done it. Not great but not worthy of the bullet. He was never liked here and one incident was always going to be the catalyst for over exaggeration. Performances were more the worry for me.

I'd agree, but when its going wrong you have to act. Short refused to sack Moyes because he wanted a manager to see out a full season (moyes was on a bonus to stay passed the end of the season).

I should of worded it differently.

    Gone???

Was out with the lad and he just said "Beale's been sacked".
Thought they would of give him longer to be honest.

Maybe there was some underlying reason other than results ?
    Hume snub maybe an Indication?

Oh well, another chapter to be written.

That's why the next appointment needs to be the totally right one. Whether it's Still, Farioli or whoever and they need to back him, not just with money but actually listen to what he says to them and respond accordingly

As he's been sacked I'd imagine he was listened to and allowed to manage ...

... if he was just Speakman's puppet, and doing what he was told, he'd still be there imo.

Can the club really take credit for admitting a mistake where everyone else saw it was glaringly obvious that it was going to be a complete disaster in the first place??

Bloody hell, balls from the club because I didn’t expect that.

Football moves so quick these days, the win over stoke looked like he’d turned the corner and a week later or so he’s gone.

Won’t hold anything against the guy, but the appointment didn’t seem to really fit. All the best to his niece Poppy, hopefully she makes a swift recovery

Nowt wrong with admitting you made a mistake. They may not come out and actually SAY that, but sacking him after 2 months says as much

It's possible they could've just let things drift until the summer.

At least they've acted now and given Dodds the chance to work with the players and win some games.

Also, I do wonder if the KLD piece in the FT was a preamble to something a bit bigger. They released it yesterday, and Beale is gone today. There are ruminations that something may be happening with the ownership structure, and a family like the Dreyfus’ would likely set the scene in a publication such as the FT. Not much was said in the initial write-up, but I get the sense this may be the beginning of something.
