Tuesday 19:45 Tough game they’re playing well and we’re going to have to raise our game for this one 2-2
Looking forward to seeing how we look with some of the new boys in against opposition who want to play football.
I just hope Morton is available alongside Seri, if so, then I think we will have a better chance of getting something from the game. If Slater is at RB because Coyle is still nursing his injury, and Morton is out, then Traore did well next to Seri against I think it was PNE, so would go with this option. Omur to come on again after HT.
Be great if this game could be our 1st 3 wins on the bounce this season that would be a statement of intent and what a place to get it.
Carvalho should have a point to prove, given they were after him like a dog on heat before he chose us, I see a goal from him in this one.
I'd take that all day. Sadly I can see them finding a way to win, so I reckon a narrow 2-1 defeat will mean Rosie's wait for 3 wins in a row will go on.
Think i would be inclined to give Omur a start he is not frightened to stick his foot in either to win the ball at the top end and i think he would definately be more of a handful for them then fabio would be, think maybe bring fabio on later in the game were he might be more effective with players tiring later on and would give him a little more time on the ball to make decisions.
Omur certainly didn't do his chances of starting at The Saints any harm after his contribution on Saturday, early days but looking like a great prospect.
Think Slater will continue as right back; if Coyle wasn't fit for more than 20 minutes on Saturday, then not sure how he's going to be starting ready on Tuesday. Seri just comes straight in if he's ready - probably for Morton if he's not 100% - although the two together would be preferable. Probably start with Ohio upfront. That's enough changes - keep Omur as an impact sub for now.
Tough game and a big game for us rolled into one. I've seen a couple of Southampton games lately and they look like a really decent outfit.Sometimes we seem to find that extra bit against decent opposition so hopefully we can get something from the game. A draw would keep us in the hunt...UTT!
Remember going to Southampton in 1974 - we drew 3 3 - from what I remember the coach left Ferensway at 11 on the Friday night - we arrived Southampton early Saturday morning and a few of us went round Winchester in the morning - I seem to remember they had Channon and Osgood up front and they equalised late on - John Hawley was playing, seem to remember him scoring, maybe he got hat trick but also got himself sent off - probably nothing like that but that's my recollection - plus some of the lads got chased around the town after the match because the coach wouldn't wait outside the ground but waited at the bus station instead
