Dunne rode out a difficult game (for him), Cook was always around to clear up for him (imho). As for speed he hasn’t got it, whether in a race where he’s 3-4 metres ahead or from a standing start. Not sure what’s happened with him, as I was one of his real fans, but he’s not what he was. But he got through a tough game for him, so well done (but he’s not the answer at right back). Again, Cooke and JCS work their socks off solidly throughout. Really impressed with Cookie. Willock? Lot said he played well today, he was OK. For me he’s riding out the season. No grit to his game, he’s avoiding tackles, he doesn’t take players on and just lays off balls as quick as possible. His shooting was very poor - he should have had at least two goals from easy positions. Ilias was at it today. Good performance. Watching the inter-play with Paal and Colback at the end was great fun. Colback feels better overall than Field over a game - however Field did get about (and great header near the end). Frey looks good. He probably did more, as a striker, in his time than Dykes did all game (though Dykes did a lovely block on Williams that riled him up and eventually got him subbed before he did something silly). Frey has much more awareness of space and movement. He did a lovely take, turn and shot that we never see from our forwards. Anderson is a breath of fresh air; prepared to take on opposition, to find space, prepared to chase after the ball when lost, prepared to battle. Take note Chris. My couple of disappointments was our lack of press when not on the ball and our lack of movement, when we do have it, to create options. All in all though, brilliant to take all three points. The fans were amazing and well deserving of the players long appreciation at the end . Sketchy first half. Ballsy second half. Good team performance. Just deserved the points in the end for me. We took it on and won. Loved it.
Having watched the highlights, it was great to see us keep a clean sheet. Andersen looks a proper player and what a headed clearance by Field at the death!! Most people's whipping boy Willock did well for the goal, as did Andersen, with a great finish from Chair. There is little doubt that we have improved greatly since Marti took over, but obviously we'll lose to Rotherham.
And there is the stinger! Lose to Rotherham and we remain in the mire. Surely, surely we won't do that?! Hoping for another full house with a cracking atmosphere.
Wednesday pushing us hard as well, it's not just the teams above us. Thank God our goal difference is in good shape compared to them and our nearest rivals
I looked at the last few seasons and you need on average 47 points to stay up. Still doable for us with Marti's form .... 2014/15 42 pts 2013/14 45 2012/13 55 2011/12 49 2010/11 43 2009/10 48 2008/09 47 2007/08 53 2006/07 47 2005/06 43 AVERAGE 47.2
Think it’ll be a bit above average this season with so many teams in the mix. 18 points required IMO which means winning the winnable home games and a few other points. Always some odd results near the end and it would help if Leeds and Cov have nothing to play for when those come.
What I really like about Andersen is he is able to play with his head up so he sees whats going on and who can make a run where. Then he can deliver the right pass. I thought Willock, Andersen and Chair were all excellent today and with good support from the rest were too much for Bristol.
If you extrapolate Marti's points per game average to the end of the season we get to 47 but almost certainly we'll need more this season. No two ways about it we have to beat Rotherham with Leicester and WBA coming up.

When GA went I placed a £5 bet we’d finish in the top half, I could cash out this morning for £2.85 then I checked and we’re ONLY 12 pts off 12th keep the faith
I read on X that yesterday's win was our 4th consecutive win at Ashton Gate. First time we've done that to a team since the 50s. Let the good times continue to roll.
Steels - i did the same thing despite have access to the game online. I walked around the house like a bear with a sore head - all in the name of winning whenever i don't watch. However, when we scored, i couldn't resist watching all of the second half. I took the decision to watch based on the fact that i couldn't influence the result from home and what harm could it do. For almost the first time this season, me watching didn't jinx the boys. What to do next week? Watch, don't watch, watch half - which half? Decisions decisions - or is it already sure that we'll lose anyway?
I'm working next Saturday so the decision is out of my hands anyway! We won last time I was working.....
You're a happy pair of bastards ain't ya Told you we'd beat Brizzle, now to smash Rovrum then put the dogs on the Foxes
