it'll be fine. we have kelleher is is above average. (just about) in fact looking at the games you couldn't pick a batter time to have that type if injury.
rumours are flying that both jota and Jones are out for the season. some are saying jota has an acl. some are saying jones's ankle is broken (which I doubt) some are saying ligaments.
Mate. we're fighting on four fronts again. We need Jota or we just have three forwards, and we don't have Doak up our sleeve either this week. Midfield needs Szobbo back sooner rather than later, but in defence we'll be fully-stocked, especially when Trent returns. May be an idea to go 4-4-2 or use Elliott as a no 10, perhaps? I don't think Darwin will last until the end of the season playing twice a week either. may not be the worst thing in the world to put out a scratch team against Southampton in the FA and, er... well see what happens.
the problem is it doesn't matter if we need him or not now cos it's done. he is out so now we have to see what steps up. we have something coming up that might just be fun for the last 10/15 of games to rest the others. it should be fun. but in the end we just have to play the next game and see where we are at. I am assuming some protection and resting will be done.
yeah, he did his ACL. I think, back in December? Very worrying for a kid that age whose whole game is based on a phenomenal burst of speed.
it wasn't the acl it was the medial. but anyway, yeah of course it hurts bit I don't think any of us really thought he was really ready this season anyway. pace, dribble and then head down while we were willing him to find the right ball in any event if Jones and Jota are gone for the season then we still have a lot of options. Luton first up, they will be tired after today. then a massive game against Chelsea who just took on city and will have a weeks rest. then a nothing game v Southampton to follow it up.
Jota is a big loss. He’s probably been in the form of his career recently and has looked amazing. if Jones is out for a long time, also a big loss and sane can be said about him; we will learn more soon I guess. Throw in the injuries to Alisson, Slob, Trent…..we simply don’t have the quality cover in depth to lose first team players in those number, few would. Sure, we can squeeze a few more performances out of what we have but unless some return quickly, our legs will go in the run in imo.
