I think stuffing Watford at Vicarage Road is also a contender, but very, very good performance all round.
Watford had not gone 24 undefeated -Southampton had-two great results but no one expected that last night. Don't get me wrong prior to the result last night-Watford away was the best.
In many ways the next game will be harder. No chance QPR will look to attack as much as the Saints, and leave themselves open to the counter attacks we saw last night. We will need to find another way to unlock sides that sit in. So far this season, we have struggled with that.
Agreed - but not just this season and not just this manager either. Breaking down struggling sides has been our downfall for years and years.
Mehmeti is the odd one out for me. He didn't beat one player and every shot and cross hit a defender. Even the cross for Bell's goal went between a defender's legs. As for tracking back he doesn't understand 'goal side'. I hope 1For is correct thinking he needs coaching to get better. As it is I think he needs a pineapple.
He needs to stop watching Luke Freemans trick of beating a player and going back to try and beat him again. I suspect he’s to be dropped when Sykes is back to full fitness.
To be fair he looks a decent player-when he played under Nige he looked lost with the pace of the game.
His final ball last night was better than Cam has been doing recently wasn’t it?, I thought the same.
Ipswich fan here, I thought your boys were superb especially in the second half, you outplayed Saints and there was nothing flukey about the result, great performance, good luck.
That was the best performance of the season -beating the 4-1 win at Watford. LM is getting us playing good football-players coming back from injury and some excellent signings brought in with apparantly some major ones coming for next season. 4 points of playoffs any team that can put a run together with 14 games left will take a spot. we beat Boro away last Friday and then Southampton home we need to make sure we follow this up with a home win Saturday to QPR. You boys are still in there amazing season for you whatever happens having come up last season. Never in your wildest dream did you expect to be where you are. You guys still in love with Mark Ashton.
But Mehmeti combined with Bell for the first goal!! I get Mehmeti is frustrating but there is a footballer in there - just needs to remember it’s a team game rather than a showboat show. Hopefully Liam will coach the wastefulness out of him.
