    Philogene - the bodacious one
Coyle - the crap one (allegedly)
Greaves - the Italian looking one

All of the rest for their heart and determination.

    Was thinking that about Greaves.

You reckon Brownie left some UV tubes and teeth whitener knocking around Cottingham?

Ohio - Changed the game along with Ozan.

    Tufan - Notable mention.

    That Rotherham keeper is superhuman.

Philogene - much better than Saturday and then the goal
Greaves - solid at the back and a real goal threat at the other end
Ohio - could turn out to be a decent signing

Thoiught Caravallo had a better game but still am disappointed with him. We had Tuifan sat on the bench who up to now has shown himself a better number 10.
And then there is Omur who curently has replaced Vaughan, wanna see him get a chance.
And yes we are missing our African Cup winner.
Gotta agree with that and it not as though he, Slater, played in the double pivot role wtth Morton. He played as an attacking mid which Tufan excells at.

There’s no scenario now I’d rather Slater than Tufan, Ozan now puts in a massive shift whenever he plays.

They're totally different players. People are obsessed with Tufan being a holding midfielder but he obviously isn't trusted to play there. Tufan in English football is an attacking player who is a very good finisher, good at pressing from the front and strong with his upper body when out of possession, but he's also easily dispossessed, often wasteful, makes really stupid decisions, goes down crying on the floor for 2 minutes under the slightest contact on an almost weekly basis, has still only ever assisted one goal for us (a corner) and also hasn't scored in a couple of months now despite playing almost every game.

The gap between the perception of Tufan on here and the reality of him is enormous sometimes.

yeah and if you think Slater is in anyway shape or form classed as a holding midfielder you need a quick service at kwik fit cause he’s doggers playing there and is better further up the field, Ozan is also streets ahead of him in that area of the field.

It’s been very clear you’ve got it out for Tufan because you’ve nailed your opinion to a wooden post early doors and now it looks to be wrong. He is a very talented player who has won points for us on his own a few times, busts a gut for the side and clearly absolutely loves it here. You’re usually pretty balanced with your posts and opinions but I’m convinced this is a biased vendetta at this point as everyone else has given up on it :emoticon-0105-wink:

No, you’re right Slater isn’t a great holding midfielder and is better further forward but he’s also a different type of attacking midfielder to Tufan and most of the others that we have. Slater’s strengths are dragging us further up the pitch, especially when we’re under pressure by either running with the ball or getting into advanced positions to link up with others and also he’s a decent finisher when the opportunities arise but most of all, he is extremely versatile and can slot into most positions on the pitch and will always give his best.
Admittedly, once everyone is available, he’s not going to be first choice in any position but I bet he’ll get on at some point in most games.
I just find it hard to fathom why some people feel the need to put down a player who will always try and do the best for the team.
By the way, if you look at your second paragraph and substitute Slater for Tufan, virtually all of it would still be valid, imho.

Hmmm where does one start after that,

    Had every faith we'd win it, but defensively we were a little wobbly under the trial by hoofball at times, however my top 3 may surprise;

    1. Coyle, there are players who have a wealth of talent and a hint of genius in their locker, but for me the stand out performance was Coyle, given he was a doubt for the game ( we really shouldn't doubt his durability after the injuries he has played through), given the much maligning of him by certain fans, he IS our captain fantastic. If you cut him.open he would be Black and Amber all the way through. Last night showed his courage, his tenacity and his ability to support those in front of him. Take a bow skip, ya deserve it.

    2. Alsop - again much maligned by certain fans, but he made some crucial saves last night, his distribution had us on the front foot more then once, and he showed why Rosie wanted him here.

    3. He has to be in the 3, I doubt there has ever been, or ever will be, another player putting on the much loved City shirt and producing a fkn Rabona, not only producing it but getting the bugger in the net ! Philoooooo you beauty, enjoy him while he is here, this lad is destined for big things.

Kudos to the travelling fans, outstanding heard ya loud and proud all match, our 12th man on the pitch

Philogene. Amazing goal. City Supporters in the stands reaction was a joy to see
Giles. Best game for us so far unlucky with shot against crossbar
Greaves. Very solid defending again. Think he won every header even against Eaves. Fantastic save or would be on scoresheet

Very good second half display, Good goal from Ohio… hopefully starts on Saturday to add more physical presence against another rough & tumble Huddersfield team

1 Philogene .. That goal was just special

2 Giles.. He never stopped and was a pain in Rotherhams butt

3 Coyle .. I think he is a special skipper

Tough to leave out Allsop critical saves
    Some good performances.

Ohio chuffed as hell that he got his 1st for us and the winner.

    Great away support too.

Just one more thing, cheers for all those who where on here last night not a bad bunch really and we came good in the end.
