Well well back to back wins against Boro and Saints how much could you have won if your were a betting man on getting that right.

We go again against QPR who are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the division-they play Stoke tonight away-a bonus for us having the extra days rest.
QPR have drawn the last two games to Norwich and Huddersfield at home but winning at Blackburn three games ago. At present sitting third bottom on 29 points three above Sheff Weds on 26 points who sit second bottom.
This is a game we must win if we are looking for a playoff spot - today we sit 4 points adrift with plenty of points to play for.
The Stats say at present we are looking upwards rather than downwards long may that continue. I am going for the same score as last night 3-1 to us.

Realistically I don’t believe playoffs are achievable this season, we aren’t ready yet, if we can keep this team together and add a few decent signings next season maybe…

stats show with 42 points to play for- we are right in the mix 14 games still to play.Personally i think another year in the championship under Manning letting him gel with the players and new signings coming in for next season would be better.
However if we did get a chance we should grab it with open arms.

Key is, to hang on to our best players and add a couple of additions.........not too many as this could upset what we have..
You have to say, apart from regular finishing, our style of football we play, is the best for a long time........years IMO... will get even better if LM is given time and some funds

We are still way too inconsistent to be real challengers imho, and there are only 2 (at most) play off places to aim for and a queue of teams also fighting to get in there.
If we can improve the squad over the summer and become more consistent in both results and performances then who knows what next season might bring.

I’m not saying it can or can’t be done. All we can do is concentrate on improving and do our best against whichever opponent we come up against.
We have a very different test coming up vs teams scrapping for championship survival and they will be bloody difficult.
If we can beat the strugglers as well as the flyers then who knows - we’ve as good a chance as any in the mix around us.
Finding consistency is the key. The next 2 games will offer a big insight into whether we have, indeed, found some consistency.

If you notice, the teams in the top 6 all have very good goal difference. That shows a degree of consistency that those below - including us don’t have.

read it correctly i said our points total was relegation form over a 10 games period and Nige had the better stats. But fair play to LM the football is looking good-long may it continue :emoticon-0148-yes:

I did like Nige, but often played negative when we went a goal up.......Who's to know but in my opinion we would have lost that game against Southampton and possibly Boro too.......I think we have something extra with LM.......very strategic in his thinking......bit more of a modern day football brain.....I see the improvement of the team most games (apart from Leeds, which he would have learnt from)....
My glass is defiantly half full...

one of the singular differences that LM has brought is when we go a goal up we keep on pressing as if it is still even Stevens!
At 2-0 we still pressed ...

The QPR game is a banana skin if ever I saw one and our previous in these kind of matches at home is not exactly exemplary. However from what I have seen developing I have faith that LM probably has a workable game plan. The play-making and decisions have improved beyond expectations and I hope we keep what is currently positive about our efforts and make it 3 for 3 and another 12 points in the bag. What happens from here has to hinge on our performance against a struggling QPR side but never count them out because if you relax just a little they will bite you in a place that hurts.

QPR are fighting for championship survival and they will give everything they’ve got right to the final whistle.
    Same as Sheffield Wednesday.
The next 2 games will be as tough (maybe tougher) than facing Leicester followed by Leeds.
QPR and Sheffield Wednesday must NOT be underestimated.

He has changed recently, initially when he arrived he had an idea of how he wanted to play and stuck to it regardless, often not playing to the strengths of the players. Recently that has changed, ie playing Cornick to counter Ayling, and playing on the counter against Southampton. We certainly don’t just sit on a lead which did annoy me under Nige.

He’s definitely getting better at his interviews, tbf maybe he’s just more relaxed, I used to avoid them because he bored me with jargon, have to say I enjoyed that, interesting to hear, he seems much more human and less of a robot. Too early but he’s growing in me ….. slowly

Surely he needed time to familiarise himself with the players he had and get them onboard with how he wanted to play.....takes time IMO.....
