Evening guys my post over on our board for the game Tuesday night-safe journey up to those coming to the new Ashton Gate if you not been before - I was down your way last year boarding a cruise ship out to the med on the new MSC Virtuosa what a ship that is amazing. Wow what a win at Boro very few of us saw that coming We move onto another very tough side in Saints who are unbeaten for 24 games something that Bristol City will try to end on Tuesday night in front of another 25000 plus crowd. Liam Manning will have a fantastic headache selecting his team with the likes of Twine and Sykes back and the fantastic display Harry Cornick put in first half.Thought we looked so much more dangerous with him up front he was causing havoc with his pace and runs.-apparently took a knock which is why he was subbed. Southampton were 2-0 down at home to Huddersfield yesterday but came out 5-3 winner after 90 minutes. This is a side that score for fun so our team needs to be attacking and not trying to defend against Southampton. I firmly believe the best form of defence is attack. If we are to get anything from this game we are going to have to play at our very best. Over to Liam to pick a side that might be able to do that. Think it will be a great game to watch with two sides that like to play fast attacking football.
cracking stadium nothing like the old Ashton Gate -you guys are in the Ateyo stand which is the smallest stand holds 4200.
I swing two ways, with both Saints and Aberdeen, so I`m interested in how former Aberdeen player Ross McCrorie plays, if selected and fit. I see he is now back from injury after a few months out. Good player. Saints fans with a good memory will remember him coming on as a sub for our fishy chums (ie the Skates) in our last meeting with them. Can`t for the life of me remember what the score was .... can anyone help me out ??
we signed him and he had some form of infection never told the whole facts but he is finally playing and you can see he has something about him-getting better and better as games go by-still building up his fitness but doing well.
Ahem, 25 unbeaten . Hope we can keep it going especially as I didn’t realise that Saints play again Friday night. **** Sky Sports for that, I guess.
Contrary to the rumours swirling around St Mary's at half time on Saturday, @......loading...... has not lost the dressing room. Incredibly, even after a run of 24 Match Day Threads the quality of which hasn't been seen for a hundred years, some posters were expressing their displeasure at the interval. To his credit, after an unexpectedly sub standard start to thread No25, ......loading...... turned things around (his 1st anecdote was an absolute worldy and his 2nd followed a minute later). He now gets the opportunity to pit his wits against his opposite number at Bristol City (26) a Mr Red Robin. I don't know how successful Red has been but I would back our boy against anyone in this division. Roll on Tuesday and roll on ......loading......
We all know Red Robin is the Communist Batman’s sidekick. In Russia, you don’t end the winning streak. The winning streak ends you.
Alright mate. How much did you rotate the team in those two cup games against Forest? Also, you reckon you might rest certain players, seeing that you have a more 'winnable' game on the weekend? How did you approach the Leeds game? Sitting back or trying to attack? For us, I'm hoping the Huddersfield game served as a wake up call, and we won't be so complacent. Flynn Downes being injured is a big loss for us though. By far our most aggressive tackler in midfield.
Ashton Gate was the site of my first ever away game just over 20 years ago under WGS so very curious to see how much different it is. Would take another 3-0 away win though I doubt Brett Ormerod will score.
My first away game too! 2-1 loss in 2007, with Safri getting sent off for us at the end. ****e game but learnt a few swear words and got a decent KFC after.
