No reason why he shouldn't be chanted for next game. He's turning things round and we are behind him. Little appreciation goes a long way.

I’ll hold my hands up, I didn’t want him at all and thought it was a shocking appointment. Mainly due to his Rangers stint.

I thought the abuse he was getting was way over the top - especially about his appearance and accent, and he was well within his rights to have a little go back in the press conference.

The last couple of games we have looked very solid, and it’s stopped all this stupid talk of possible relegation.

What I’ve noticed more of is this change in our attacking play. Under Mowbray we’d usually just give it to Clarke and let him try and score himself, no movement into the box or no instruction for Clarke to look for the pass.

However, under Beale - Clarke is looking to pass/cross a lot more instead of taking that long range effort 90% of the time. It’s mixing it up and making it less predictable.

I hope Beale continues this good run of form, I’d be over the moon for him considering how many were against him early on.

Just a question, to clarify what we can post ...

... is this thread, which started out as a flurry of attacks on Beale, antagonising?

I barely posted on it, before people were claiming those wanting Beale sacked were better informed, etc, so I'm not responsible.

My other question is, can people be quoted on what they've said or are the vile comments and personal attacks on Beale, Speakman, KLD, etc, never to be mentioned.

It seems perfectly acceptable for people who were optimistic, and proved wrong, to be reminded ...

... especially immediately after a bad result.

Ignore them marra, anyone who stoops that low to bring personal insults into a debate are embarrassing, infantile, uneducated and pathetic and I’d also question their loyalty to SAFC

Social media is full of people who say "I hope I'm proven wrong" and then when proven wrong get defensive, dismissive and full on gaslighting.

It happened with the KLD takeover. The amount of people, mostly the Wise Men Say crowd, telling us there was no takeover. That Niall Quinns Dad as well. They all kept saying "I hope I'm wrong but you're gonna look silly when it doesnt happen". And then it DID happen and the narrative became "its not a real takeover".

Then when it did become a real takeover it became "But Sartori is still involved".

Now, from the same crowd, its "KLD is a wrong'un".

They will never ever admit they got the original thing wrong. And so are doubling down on it in the vast hope of eventually being "right".

Unfortunately it will be the same with Beale. Will happen after every defeat. We could get promoted this season having won every game from now on in. And if we lost the first game of the PL season away to Man City, there'd be fans jumping in here saying "told you so".

Up to page 5 on my re-read.

Yet to see a personal attack on Beale.

Plenty of criticism of his tactics though.

Not sure why this thread should be seen as antagonising. We can all post what we like...( within the bounds of the law,of course,and...we would hope, common decency).....and any of those posts, including the vile comments and personal attacks, can be quoted, reminded and commented on at any time. No-one is immune to that and there are some very good memories on here!
That's a healthy forum, which it seems to me,is,by and large, what we have. That said,it always seems easier for some to post the negative, and say you hope you're wrong, rather than to post the positive, and say you hope you're not wrong. Not sure why...there'll be a psychology student on here somewhere who'll explain it,no doubt.
Emotions can always run high with this club...it's in our DNA....because we all care so much about it.

What about the parody video? Mild in comparison to what was said on some other threads but unkind mockery of him nonetheless

Can't stand it when people say 'hope i'm proven wrong' in regards to the club they support. They win either way, either they are right and they rub it in, or they are wrong and the club does well. Never understood people like that.

It's why, probably controversially, I don't buy into the whole everyone deserves an opinion thing because unless you can defend it with genuine facts it's just baseless and unsubstantiated, and I think spreading opinions like that is dangerous. As my Dad says, opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one but most of them are full of ****.

Like I said, it was tame in comparison to some of the stuff that was said about him on other threads. It was, though, constituent part of a general attitude towards him that didn't paint any of us, as fans of the club, in a very good light.

The whole episode was embarrassing. Even some of the comments about Beale's experience were, despite their wild inaccuracy, intended to be derogatory and belittling. And it wasn't just him that got it. There were people trying to act as gatekeepers with regard to who was and wasn't a proper fan, and assertions being made about the character of people from the North East and the type of people they would and wouldn't accept which also reflects badly on us as a fanbase.

Conversely, during this turbulent spell, there have been people who have been heavily critical of the club but have done so in a measured and thought out way.

I don't think there's any need for the sackcloth and ashes but I hope that the way Beale has demonstrated his abilities makes certain people think twice before acting so hysterically in future.
