To be fair though there a few posters who are negative at every little opportunity, not just because of Beale. I had no opinion when he came in as didn't know him enough, then things looked a bit bleake and I was worried but said I hope he proves us all wrong. Let's hope this is the start of him doing just that!
Will Still having a tougher time with Reims at the minute I note. He seemed to be the one everyone wanted. I never understood the attraction personally. I think in Beale we have got someone who is hungry to prove himself, has a coaching pedigree the likes of Still can only dream of, and looks to be a good fit with the squad of young players. Yes he was a surprise pick, and probably not first choice for the club. But the bloke has all the attributes we should want in a head coach and I think he is starting to get to know the players a bit and we are seeing some improvements in individuals and in partnerships that are clearly coming from the training ground. The evidence of his work is there. ONien and Ballard are closer together and we look tighter for it. I see Ekwah looking a bit freerer in his play. Clarke is looking to mix up his delivery much more now. We are also tactical flexible now, whether we play a flat 3 or 2 holding or 1 holding. We can adjust mid matches too. I love how the pitch is always really big when we have the ball, players really getting wide and holding the width. What I also like about him is how he carries himself on the touchline. He is calm and efficient. He is talking to players and tweaking things all the time, without any ranting and raving. I swear coaches who go barmy on the touchline dont help players, particularly young ones. All in all he has made a good start and I am pleased for him. I see no reason so far to think he wont be a success here.

When he first arrived he was constantly talking to the coaches ... ... he now seems totally absorbed in his thoughts and deciding on his next move.
Noticed yesterday the players were playing with a bit more freedom. Happier to mix it up a bit less rigid in there formation. Happy if this slow progress continues on what's starting to look like pretty solid foundations.
're MB we've got to remember he didn't bring any staff with him so although he probably know Dodds etc he had to get used to his staff as well as the players. Get through the next two games with 6 points and I'm not taking anything for granted as they're aren't any easy games in this league and MB will have had a cracking start to his tenure.

I thought the same mate. Neil making the dummy run for Clarkes goal a case in point. There was a sense of handbrake off in the team selection yesterday, and I suspect in the instructions. It looks to me like some of the defensive tweaks are made and we are now into seeing what Beale wants from players in the final 3rd. Also I think the press looks to have been really worked on in training. It is very well structured and not done when unnecessary. It certainly looks like as a coach he is changing things he sees needs changing. That is his job to be fair, and he seems like a bloke doing it his way.

Right Chunks, out of respect to you, as a good supporter/poster, I've waded through forty pages of a thread I mainly kept off as I found many of the comments to be sickening ... not how I see people from the NE and their reputation for fairness and hospitality. I've no problem with my posts which were trying to calm things down, not stir them up. Take a look, they're quite benign. I have to accept you're right in that there were 5 or 6 posters who posted much more, than you, and were ten times as negative and abusive. I shouldn't have lumped you in with them so I do sincerely apologise for that error. In my defence I'd seen exactly the same comments posted on multiple threads and repeated over and over on this one which was really tedious. Whether people realise or not they were basically, from the start, calling other people thick* as below, simply for saying we should be a little more patient, The comments were that people were 'slow to learn' 'ill advised' 'clueless' or 'blind' but, basically, making them out to be less intelligent. Yet they seem horrified if people take offence and react. Believe me, I've read every post today, so that's the pattern ... although I'm sure some will deny it, fair enough. I've quoted the post, of yours, that really wound me up ... no apology for that, I could never agree with us losing games. I also don't believe it's unfair to remind people of their own words, we're all responsible for what we say and it stays on the forum. If people are unhappy with what they've posted they could always apologise, as I've just done. I think it's unreasonable for people to post something then complain if it's quoted, even weeks later. People showing optimism and getting 'Told you so' responses, if it goes badly, are just as entitled to respond in kind. Hope that rambling sack makes sense, big hangover after Murrayfield and our match, the apology is genuine. I could've sent a private message but I'd prefer to humble myself on here.
An ex rangers player told me his training was unreal and the players loved the training. Said hes a really nice guy as well, he personally didnt think he was cut out for being a head coach at that time. Cant mind exactly what he said but it was something like 'rangers was far too big a step for him at that stage, itll make or break him as a manager. Not sure he will be a head coach but hes a quality coach, training is class' He seems to be learning quickly while hes been here, im already seeing massive improvements in him as a head coach in his short time with us - long may it continue. Not sure ive ever wanted a manager to succeed at us as much as i am with beale
Pleased to see this mate. @Chunksafc comes across as a top poster to me. Love his branch bus stuff, had my time on one. I say this often, chances are we meet in a boozer and it is a love in. We all want the same thing.
